RADIO REQUESTS !!!!

Ok I created the threads! I have more work to do to them but I have to get to work. Feel free to go into your region and create a thread for your state. I think the first post in each thread should have the radio station contacts listed. This will be a lot of work but very helpful. Will work on this later. I will just add the stations in to the first posts. If that makes sense? Oh and you don't have to be a member to post in these threads.

csprof, I tweeted about requesting from WLHT Barnaby and Friends yesterday. I received an email from Barnaby (barnabyandfriends@wlht.com) saying he will forward it to their music director. We should request from them every few days. http://www.wlht.com/ContactUs/tabid/506/Default.aspx

I've decided that adding every radio station to the radio request threads is too much work especially since it has already been done. So I think we should use these threads to discuss our specific cities and try to create game plans. Its much easier to communicate if the threads are more organized. For example check out the Midwest forum in the Ohio thread. This thread can still be used for general radio request conversation.

Csprof I created a forum that is named radio station list. I tried adding your's & Mattyfan's table from the first page but it is too jumbled. I don't have time to figure it out today can you add it to the thread. The thread is above the geographical regions. Thanks!

If this is too confusing to everyone let me know and I can simply delete it and we will continue using this thread.

I can do this tomorrow morning when I update with Mediabase numbers. The table format is pretty low-level, and you have to copy the source to get it to work. It might not be too hard to copy the relevant entries from the table into the threads (like just the Toledo and Cleveland entries into the Ohio thread). Mattyfan and I may need to do this in stages because she has been updating the table with request info that we will want to be copied. I will look at it tomorrow. Right now I am working... (and buying "Thank You" on ITUNES!!!).

"Thank You" is steady at #23 on the AC chart for the FOURTH day now. Please keep requesting and let's push it Top 20! He needs to get more spins AND more adds! PLEASE follow up on your earlier requests and, of course, keep requesting from the stations that are already playing it. Let's all devote time to this everyday. THANK YOU!!!

I know we've been requesting the song left and right, every chance we get. Everyone's doing a really great job! (Star 105.7 in Grand Rapids finally played it today!) Here's a little direction we can try the next few days.

Matt just tweeted that he will be on radio stations all over the Midwest this week. Hopefully, Jenna will finally get to hear Matt in Cleveland! This should give him a boost in spins because I do not believe Chicago, Cleveland or Flint is currently playing "Thank You". Here's the tweet:

(9/9/2010): "Thank You" is hanging in there at #23 on the AC chart. Matt's visiting radio stations in Michigan and Ohio this week. We're hoping the song stays strong and pushes up to Top 20 in the next weeks. I'm sure our requests are helping!

Let's continue to concentrate on Michigan (Matt's homestate), Ohio (Jim's homestate), and the stations that carry Jim Brickman's radio show:

(9/20/2010): After a few days at #24, "Thank You" is back at #23 but still battles strong competition. We need to request it A LOT and SOON! Would you send out emails today? Let's do what we can and hopefully prevent the song from sliding down the ranks. Thank you!!

Update from csprof:
I am concerned that "Thank You" could be flattening out, so it is really important to get as many people requesting as possible, and geographically distributed. Some of the stations playing "Thank You" played it less last week, so we particularly need to request at the stations where the song has been added.

Here are ones that are barely playing "Thank You" (0-3 times per week):
Wichita, KS (1 time), Portsmouth, NH (2), Monterey-Salinas, CA (2), Jackson, MS (3), Huntsville, AL (3)

Here are additoinal stations that played it less this past week than the week before:
Chattanooga, TN, Shreveport, LA, Toledo, OH, Grand Rapids, MI (WLHT), Columbia, SC

Also, I discovered a few other stations that are playing "Thank You" but haven't added it, so please request there:
Pittsburgh, PA, Norfolk, VA, Denver, CO, Lansing, MI

And also keep sending requests to Detroit, MI (WNIC) and Columbus, OH (Sunny 95).

So I think it all lies with Theresa Lucas who is the Asst. Program Director and whoever is the Program Director. I don't know if I know who that is.

Any thoughts? New ideas?

I have also received two emails back from Theresa Lucas (yesterday and today) when I requested Thank You. She did respond to both requests but all she said was "thanks for the email, have a great day!" Nothing about whether or not she would play the song. Grrrr. At least they know I want to hear it! haha!

Anyone else emailing/calling Theresa or Kristin, or anyone else at 100.3? If so, are you getting any responses?

I have sent a few messages to WNIC, but I try to keep a somewhat low profile when I am sending email to a station that is not in my area since supposedly they don't like to be bombarded by out-of-area fans. So I thanked them for the interview and told them how much I and other people obviously loved the video, and that it was an indication they should play the song. At any rate, I have probably sent 3 or 4 emails to WNIC over the past month and have never ever received any sign of life from any of them. Probably mattyfan and others have done the same. I think they are responding to you because you have been so persistent (and I mean that in a good way!).

That video is amazing, so Kristin will probably be convinced that the song should be played, and the other DJs seem already convinced by their reaction in the video, but there is no telling what Teresa will decide. She may need more encouragement. In general, the few times I have received a response from a program director, it is usually noncommittal like Teresa's.

FYI, according to Mediabase, Teresa is the Music Director and Todd Thomas is the Program Director. I do not have an email for Todd Thomas.

Are there other folks from Detroit out there? We need to get an army of locals to send them requests.

I will see if I can find any contact information for this Todd Thomas when I get home and can get on the radio station's website.

I am trying to be persisent but pleasant at the same time. haha!!

Here's another idea. We could include in our requests the email of the female DJ, Renee, who was clearly moved by Matt's performance in the video. Jay's email address is so generic that I bet he doesn't read it. I found Renee's email on the WNIC website: reneevitale@clearchannel.com

I think that if it were up to her, she'd definitely be ready to play the song!

The station's youtube channel shows Jay, Renee and someone heading to Jamaica on Friday. They may not be back yet.

Awesome! I will definitely send her an email. They are heading back from Jamaica today and will be back on the air tomorrow. I will send her an email tomorrow morning, and like you said reference the video since she was there and obviously was impressed with Matt.

I started to request Thank You again with 100.3 WNIC and Magic 105.1 via email and Twitter. I also am going to begin requesting with 96.3 WDVD. I just sent in a song request this morning via their website. I thought 100.3 was going to be our best bet because Matt visited the station and performed Thank You...but I guess not! I will continue with these stations and hopefully Detroit will come through soon! I need to find out if 96.3 has a Twitter, I am sure they do.

I found another contact for 100.3 WNIC in Detroit, I don't think it's listed above, if it is, then pay no attention to me, haha!

toddthomas@clearchannel.com - Todd is the Program Director. I have been emailing Theresa Lucas who is the Asst. Program Director. I sent her another email today and she is out of the office so it had an "out of office" reply message, that listed Todd's email as a contact person.

The only bad thing with 100.3 not playing Thank You ever yet is now that November is approaching, 100.3 switches to 100% Christmas music. Yes they start this early!! Usually the beginning of November it switches to all Christmas music and stays that way until after Christmas. So we will have to work harder on 105.1 and 96.3. 105.1 does play Christmas music but not 100%, I believe they start pretty early too.

Maybe Matt should release a Christmas song!! haha!!
