What's worse is that I was watching the Top 1000 chart for a while and he never made it there either. It's harder and slower to watch, so I gave up. I think the song might have had a bigger initial surge if we had known when it was coming out in advance like we did with "You Don't Know Me". But it probably would have dropped pretty quickly like "You Don't Know Me" did.
I think it is not unusual for an AC song to not sell all that many downloads. AC listeners are, according to MJs readers, people who buy albums. I don't think there is much to be done other than push the song on the radio and hope it improves sales. The chart ranking is important, and also how long he stays on the radio. Jim will be promoting on the East coast this week, so that should help.
Yes, there is a bunch of garbage music out there, which makes promoting Matt that much more important!
