Forum promotion...let's get our site out there and bring in new members!!

Well so far we have 52 members which is great but I wouldn't it be great if we could get even more. Once the tour is over Matt's folder will be closing and I hope many of the people on there on AI boards will elect to come here and to Megan's site when it gets up. I hope we can keep this fanbase strong and growing. AI fans make me nervous because at times they can be very fickle and once the season is over they forget about their current favorite and move on. We will have to work hard to keep Matt's fanbase intact and growing. I think it's great that we already have almost 350 posts so I thank everyone who has joined and began to make this feel like home.

So how can we promote the site and bring in new members? Anyone have any suggestions? I must have PM'd about 60 people over on the AI boards. Should we try letting people over on Idol Forums know. Or how about Matt's myspace or facebook page? For some reason he hasn't accepted me yet on his myspace. Maybe someone who he has accepted can post a link over there. I also PM'd about 4 people over on TwoOp. I'm all out of ideas.

I'll help spread the word...I'll PM a lot of the AI people I've gotten to know.

LOL it's probably the same 60 people I PM'd. I'm thinking about making another post in Matt's folder and the GD forum but not sure I want to risk getting banned.

I just PM'd 72 squaddies. I hope I didn't do too many duplicates of folks who are already here...sorry to any of you, if I did. I'll keep watching out, too...I'm over there a lot, and will PM anyone else I spot as a good candidate.

Thank you everyone for help spreading the word! This is so exciting. For the first time I feel like we are looking foward to Matt's great future. He is no longer Matt of American Idol but Matt the musician/artist! Not that he always wasn't LOL!

Ahh thanks Peacehope. I'm sure that will help! I'm actually very happy with how the board is going. I just can't wait until Megan get's her's up and running and we can have more whistles and bells. I am going to work more on the board this weekend so hopefully it will get even better!

be careful about posting on the a.i. board about this place. all i did was make a thread asking people to pm me and it was deleted and i got banned again!! or it could have been for me giving a verbal beat down to a glambert...lol.

Well I registered the site on both Yahoo and Google but apparently it takes several weeks before it begins showing and the bummer is it might not ever even show up. And I spent hours on learning how to do it and then creating a sitemap. Oh well hopefully they will put our site in their search engines if not then I guess the bright side is I learned how to do it right?

Matt is accepting friends on facebook now! I couldn't believe it....has anyone posted there or on Matt's fan page??

i put the thegiraudsquad.com in the search engines so that should cover us here. we are actually getting alot of hits from google

Oh that is great megan! How long did it take before it showed up? What is alot of hits? We do seem to be getting a lot of traffic. I am having so much fun and I love everyone here but of course I love being a fan of Matt the most. I am so glad everyone is enjoying it here. It really makes me feel how do I say this without sounding like a sappy mess...I just love seeing all the people here who are so devoted to Matt!

I've sent out 83 invites by PM so far. Still watching for others who frequent the AI folder that I might have missed. Also, the thread "I Now Present To You" from makeup shows the site in the OP ~ the mods have miraculously missed that one. So we are trying to keep that bumped for folks that we miss.
