Mattyfan,

Thanks for posting this article! It just makes me want to help Matt even more. I'm really intrigued by this quote:

Quote :

On collaborating with jazz singer Anna Wilson on "You Don't Know Me," Giraud remarks that “it was an awesome and a very cool experience. Anna Wilson is a great friend of mine. Working with her was great. I felt that we made an amazing track."

He continued, "I am just really excited to see what is going to happen with it. I have some interesting developments that are actually going out with that song. It's going to be even bigger than it was at first.

I guess he was alluding to performing it at the Grand Ole Opry, but is there more to it? I can imagine that a whole lot of brand new and important people at the Grand Ole Opry are going to be very impressed by the two of them performing that song. It shows off Matt's voice at its best, and he and Anna have a great chemistry on stage.

Great article thanks funnymonkie and mattyfan!

I was very interested in that quote as well csprof and wondered if there is more to it? He did say development(s) not development. Guess we will have to wait and see. I think both the Anna Wilson and Jim Brickman singles have helped him greatly and I'm so happy other musicians think so highly of his talent! I just hope that his music will reach the masses soon because as much as I love both of these songs his music in my opinion is worlds better and needs to be heard!

I also thought the article showcased Matt's incredible spirit and I loved that! He isn't giving up anytime soon despite the difficulties and often disappointing aspects of the music business! I just wish he had an easier time of it! It baffles me that someone with his incredible talent has to struggle while so many of the so called artists we are being forced to listen to can't even sing. I know Matt will have an amazing career because I do believe in his talent and the music he has created is too incredible not to!

Will someone play along with me? I'm speculating that Matt and Anna are going to be on the cover of Anna's new CD "Countrypolitan Duets", and that is the reason for the photo shoot in Nashville and why Matt keeps hinting that there are development(s) surrounding "You Don't Know Me". Maybe they'll use the picture for Anna's Grand Ole Opry debut poster too.

Anyone else want to guess something different?

(Matt throws out tiny clues, and some of us find ourselves piecing them together into guesses that are often wrong. But it can be fun!)

Well, here is a picture from the photo shoot, and there is no Anna. So now I am really intrigued. Doesn't Matt look really great!

Ok, I'm telling myself not to get too excited. It's probably a promo shoot for the Grand Ole Opry appearance. But I would love for Matt to wonderfully surprise us all with some truly, extremely "exciting" "upcoming things"! Laughing

mattyfan,

You're right -- we should try to imagine what is most likely. That's why I thought it had to do with Anna and either the Grand Ole Opry debut or her CD, but why would it not have Anna in it? Maybe she will have her collaborators pictures on her CD. That makes sense as to why he would be by himself in the picture.

He does look very nice! I agree csprof it is fun speculating. I thought your idea was a good one and probably correct but then no Anna in the picture he posted. In his tweet he did say Exciting Things not thing? I wonder if their song will be in a movie or on TV? Maybe he wanted some individual pictures as well and will be photographed with Anna too? The outfit he is wearing in the picture he tweeted definitely fits the song.

I am hoping it is for a solo project! Praying everyday for the CD! I love my contraband CD's but I really want a studio recording of all his amazing songs! Or how about a photoshoot for tour promotion? Come on Matt tour so the rest of your fans can see you!

LOL jenkatz on twitter suggested that he is having a photoshoot for PlayGirl!

Well, it occurs to me that someone is spending real money for him to have a photo shoot in Nashville. There are plenty of excellent photographers in Michigan, so he would only go to a photo shoot in Nashville if whoever was in charge of whatever project this is wants to control the resulting image by using their own photographer.

It also occurs to me that if Anna had a photo shoot for either her Grand Ole Opry appearance or her CD that it would be costly and complicated because both involve a whole bunch of busy people. Since she is not likely to recoup the costs, she wouldn't do it. That's why I originally thought she and Matt would be on the cover of it because that is easier.

Has anyone dug up any information about this photographer? Maybe there is a clue in what sort of work he does?

This mystery is quite intriguing. I hope he doesn't keep us hanging too long!

I think everyone has great ideas on this. Maybe he is doing solo photos for the progam for the Grand Ole Opry perfomance. That is what makes sense.

AS for new developments I am very much intrigued to find out. The mystery of Matt Giraud & his mind is always interesting. Who knows what has already been decided on at this point. For all we know an EP is already recorded & ready to go! LOL I find it interesting that Matt is on the first single released for both Anna & Jim's albums. Smile Such a great honor & knowing that they believe in him.

Such a Soap Opera Drama ... The PlayGirl thing killed me ... uh I would say that is a definate no. But who knows???? lol

I agree it is a definite honor! I love that other talented musicians recognize how talented Matt is! I said this somewhere else but I won't be surprised if in a couple of years artists are contacting Matt to ask him to write music for them!

Umm and the playgirl thing...yes definitely not!

Here is my 5 minutes of research on the photographer. I followed one of Jenna's links and watched his "Music" slideshow. The photographer takes pictures for recording studios, and I found four studios listed as clients among the pictures.

Sixpence/EMI: appears to be a Christian studio, could not find a link
Tooth and Nail Records: www.toothandnail.com
INO records: www.inorecords.com
Atlantic records: www.atlanticrecords.com

If you, for example, look up "Skillet" on the Atlantic Records website, you'll see this guy's picture. I think he photographed their album cover.

By the way, the photographer's work is pretty interesting. I can't wait to see what they come up with for Matt.

Wow great research! Lol I was too lazy to do anything but post the links Very Happy

Probably means nothing that this photographer works with labels but wouldn't it be amazing if it was a photoshoot for a official announcement like a record label? I'm still thinking it has something to do with Anna and Matt's song!

IF the pictures are for a single, EP or CD release, something will happen soon. You wouldn't take the pictures until close to the end once the concept for the single/EP/CD is well understood. A good photographer, make-up artist, multiple locations and clothes changes and shipping Matt to Nashville is expensive, so you would only do it once you are sure you are ready. Also, the photographer, make-up artist and Matt tweeted about this photo shoot to build some buzz, so if it had to do with Anna, I think they would have said something.

There have been several clues over the past few weeks from Matt and others that something is up. Or maybe that is just what I want to believe...
