Anna Wilson's "Countrypolitan Duets"

It looks like Anna has started promoting her CD, which is due out a week from today. I'm wondering if Matt will join her for any appearances. This one looks like it was just Anna. Even the bass player in Anna's band who has been such a good source of Anna information does not appear to have been there.

I don't know when this happened, but the release date of Anna's CD has been moved back to April 5. Anna announced it yesterday on twitter. If what Matt said to Jim C. doesn't change about YDKM being re-released in March/April, it may come out ahead of the album.

I also checked out the Music World website, and you can hear all of the songs streaming there. It's a cool album. Nevertheless, I think "You Don't Know Me" really stands out vocally. I'm sure hoping there will be some promotion that involves Matt. The album comes out on April 5. Here's the link:

I, for one, am itching to have something from Matt to request on the radio. It can't come sooner. I hope something's being planned seriously.

I know what you mean, mattyfan, but for now it seems that YDKM promotion will happen sooner than any original music, so I am hoping it will give him a chance to get out there and be in the public eye.

Matt tweeted he's going to a jazz awards show in San Diego. There is something called the Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards on March 10-13. So far it does not show Anna as a performer, but maybe they have something planned and not yet announced. Here's the link:

I hope Matt does gigs wherever he goes. Nashville, San Diego, etc. It'll get his die-hard fans something to tide them over till he finally gets his album out and tours.

I am watching Mediabase periodically, and so far YDKM has not been released to radio. In a recent interview, Matt said they were planning a re-release in March or April to help promote the CD. I was wondering if it was the acoustic version they recorded in November. I'm very curious what plans they have for that acoustic version. I think it was Anna who said in November that they planned to release the song to radio.

I think Anna will give us the word if it is released. Matt will probably tell us a week or so after it is out in a tweet with three other topics.

LOL, csprof! You got Matt all figured out! I am excited for YDKM to be out on radio, and to see what they'll do with the acoustic version! Anything with Matt on the radio, we're ready to request!

The entire awards show is cancelled. They could not sell enough tickets. There is an explanation at the website I posted earlier in this thread. I'm sure they would have loved to have Anna and Matt perform. They really do sound great.

Oh my! What a loss for jazz fans. I really think America needs someone fresh and current like Jamie Cullum to spark some love for jazz among younger people. I really wouldn't mind if Matt took on the challenge!

It sadly has less Matt on it, but I think that is probably appropriate. Meanwhile, she has announced some tour dates with Matt Dusk, mostly in Canada, and there is one scheduled in early May in Michigan. I have hopes Matt G. will make the drive to Royal Oak Michigan to appear with her.

Anna's CD comes out in just 3 days, and I am looking forward to further buzz on it. I have yet to read anything but glowing comments about Matt's vocals on this track. Loved, loved, loved the mention in the EW review. And I love it that it is his vocals that are getting all the attention!

Anna is on tour in Canada right now with Matt Dusk, but she has a few days off coming up and I'm wondering if/how she'll be promoting the CD.

I'm sure it WAS at #53, but unfortunately it is dropping. Right now it is at #74.

An hour later it is back up to #68. So maybe it will go up again today as more people hear about it.

Wow, I must say that I have listened to the unplugged version several times now and am loving it more and more each time. It is more stylized and sleepier than the previous version, but the jazzy phrasing and what Matt does with his voice give me chills at points. I hope people who love Matt will hear about this recording because it is a real showcase for his voice.

Also, Anna's album is currently #11 on the ITunes Jazz albums.

I couldn't check the chart during the afternoon, but I saw YDKM Unplugged get as high as #40. Now it is at #62. Maybe it will pick back up again tomorrow. Meanwhile, Anna's album is at #9 on the jazz chart, and I bet that will keep going up at least for a few days.
