Ummm.... Go On And Sing Boy. I hate to say it because I feel disloyal but that is the only song of Matt's I can say I just don't like. I love everything else

I like it more for that he is relating to his past of growing up.. It makes a good story..

I think the lyrics are actually pretty good. Guess I just don't like the sound of the song.

What is funny is... at his very first concert Go On And Sing Boy was the first original song he sang and I started panicking because I was worried I wouldn't like his music. Thank God I have loved everything else!

I like Who Am I a lot, but not enough to displace anything else. It may grow on me in the future, but it seems more generic than his other songs. I don't love This Other Life for the same reason. And this may be disloyal, but I never understood what was happening in 4AM. I love the sound of the song, but the lyrics are confusing. On the other hand, I knew I loved most of the songs on first listen.

One exception to this is My Love Screams. I found it a little slow the first time, and it took a while before I understood what it meant, but now I love it.

4 Am has grown on me. I think its one of his songs that has grown and evolved. When I first heard it I didn't love it either but I think Sweet J along with Matt have improved the song greatly through time.

I love This Other Life! It is one of my favorites and I loved it the first time I heard it along with Who I Am.

I wonder how Who I Am would sound with Sweet J? I really do love that band!


Hmmm I think another good thread would be...what songs of Matt's did you love on the first listen. I actually have quite a few!

Hahaha I should have said dont write your list if its not the same as mine. No I really love reading what everyone's favorite songs are. Just goes to show Matt has music for everyone! I love talking about Matt's music and even though it is only a few of us, it feels good to have someone to discuss it with again. I didnt realize how much I missed it!

I agree that it is good to be talking about Matt again. His music means a lot to me, but there wasn't much to discuss for a while. I love this new video and song. Even though I would love it more if it were one of Matt's songs, I am thrilled to see him putting himself out there again. I am glad for the good taste he has shown in teaming with Lindsey -- she has a fantastic voice and they sound so good together.

Ok, I will play but you know I just want a double disk set with ALL of them included along with a bonus of the video "Love Screams" ... and autographed! This is too hard to narrow down but here we go...
