And speaking of being a dork, here's some theories about who is watching the video. First of all, there are a bunch of blogs that have a link to this video. I even noticed one associated with Twilight. Second, I noticed a bunch of AI fans who are not necessarily Matt fans that are sending around links to the video, particularly fans of Adam, Kris and Danny from Matt's season. AI fans could largely account for the views if they are not just Matt fans. I don't know why, but I've also noticed a lot of posts of Matt's video from people in foreign countries, specifically in Europe and Asia. A foreign audience would explain the explosion overnight and this morning of views to the video.

I really hope this keeps up. The views have slowed this afternoon, but are still steady. Maybe we'll have another overnight bump tonight.

I was wondering if Twilight fans had something to do with it! I hope when I wake up tomorrow the views are up to 75,000! Hahaha I love when you do your research csprof! At least you get paid for being a dork lol!

Well I think it's a great sign that so many people are passing the video around because that means they love it!

Guess I should make a new goal because the views are now at 73,286! Should we shoot for a 100,000 by tomorrow afternoon?

I really hope that once people view the video they go to itunes and purchase the song. The one bad thing about youtube is it is very easy to steal music from it

It really is an incredible video! I hope VH1 or MTV pick it up! The song is also pretty damn amazing! I never get tired of listening to it! Praying for radio play but don't know how realistic that is...it doesn't have Jim Brickman's name to it but it's a million times better than "Thank You" IMO!

I think it's even more fun than tracking "Thank You" because things are happening so fast. I vote for 100,000 views by morning! I think we'll get there.

I have checked the ITUNES charts to see if it is on there, but I don't remember anymore how to track the Top 1000 songs, and it is not in the Top 100 Pop songs. I don't know whether these view counts are translating into purchases, but I suspect most aren't yet.

Yes, I would love it if VH1 picked it up. It is a really well-done video. I also keep imagining one of the dance shows (SYTYCD, for example) using it for some angst-filled dance that explodes during the bridge. That's how the song "Jar of Hearts" made it big. If it goes to any of these sorts of places then it would get on the radio, but that won't happen soon. For now, I am satisfied tracking youtube views.

Christina, has a terrific idea happening on twitter. She is gifting "My Love Screams" to five random fans who respond to her question "Tell Us Why you love Matt and his music"? I was thinking of just tweeting and gifting 10 copies to whoever responded first but her way is more fun and of course the more internet talk the better!

Well I'm going to keep positive thoughts going! Hopefully we will be hearing more about this song but like you i'm just going to enjoy the song/video and watching the views!

I think I posted on another thread that I've been having this gut feeling that something big is about to happen for Matt. According to the way this video is being spread around... I think I may be right! So exciting!

Good morning! Too bad we didn't wake up to 100,000 views, but I'm pretty sure we'll get there sometime today. I'm doing my part -- I've watched it several times already today!

Whatever happens to "My Love Screams", it is already more successful than is typical for a new artist. I think being connected to AI gets people to take a look, and then the video and song are so good that it has picked up momentum. I have seen just a tiny bit of negative comments amid all of the glowing comments, which is unusual for Matt -- he seems to have people who either love him like we do or really don't get him and are very negative. Mostly, the negative people are keeping quiet.

Here's a funny thing I noticed on Itunes. There is a comment by D. Grow (presumably the producer) that says, "Finally! Matt Giraud lives up to the potential we knew he had! This tune finally showcases Matt at his emotive best. Newcomer Lindsey Sky also sounds amazing. A must have!" Don't you think that is a little funny when he produced Matt on "Thank You" too?

This song is certainly strong enough to be a hit, and the video appears to be doing a good job of selling the concept to the people who've watched it. I have my fingers crossed.

Just checked again and it's at 100,929!!!! This is amazing!

Ok, so now there are exactly 10 videos of Matt on youtube that have more views than this one, all studio performances from AI. Now that we have reached the 100,000 milestone, let's watch each one of these fall below "My Love Screams"! The next one is "My Funny Valentine" with almost 126,000 views -- at our current pace, we ought to reach that by tomorrow. The most watched is his "You Found Me" studio performance, which has almost 240,000 views. How long will it take to get there? Next week?

Haha, now we are over 111,000 views. Every few hours it goes up by 5,000 or 10,000. How long will this last?

At what point does someone pay attention and start playing this on the radio or on VH1 or the like? Because watching youtube views go up is probably going to get old soon.

I do think that is strange and IMO a bunch of BS! Matt is always emotive when he is singing! Hell it's one of the reasons I fell in love with him in the first place! Whenever Matt performs you can see he is feeling the music! LOL but I'm sure Mr. Grow didn't mean to piss me off!

I get the sense David Grow is trying to milk Matt's AI name recognition to help this single. He wants this to be Matt's "debut". (See all the claims that the video is Matt's first since AI, etc.). But at least he realized Matt and Lindsey would sound great and included Matt. As long as Matt seems to be averse to releasing his own music, his big break will have to come on some collaboration project. He has done well so far with his collaborations.

Matt always emotes, but mostly, he hasn't released anything, at least not his own post-AI music. Had he ever released anything, these sorts of comments would not apply. No one with eyes and ears can watch that River City version of "See you in a Little While" (or any version) and make this comment.

I agree but I think he probably also knows how damn talented Matt is and really believed that Matt could add something special to the song!

Urghh don't get me started! I just don't understand why he is refusing to release the incredible music that he has created? Now is the time to release it while the public is being reminded of him again but of course I thought this when he released "Thank You" with Jim Brickman. Oh well at least we have some good audio of live versions and it's not like we can't say he isn't making music at all. Guess I will have to be content with what I have because it's obvious I'm not going anywhere!


Oh and the video just passed my goal of 120,000! It's now at 121,274! Hmmm is 150,000 by tomorrow morning to lofty of a goal?

I'm thinking 150,000 by morning is going to happen. We are at 133,000 now, and it seems to go up by about 3,000 or so an hour. After we pass 240,000 and this is Matt's most popular youtube video, I am probably going to get bored with this until we hit 500,000 or 1,000,000. Once we hit 1,000,000, then I surely hope something new will be happening. I have checked the ITunes Top 100 pop songs once or twice a day for the last two days, but it is not there, and probably would take a very large sales volume to show up. The pop chart is a far cry from the jazz chart where a few thousand sales could put you at the top. Those were the days!

And I agree that David is obviously a huge fan of Matt and his talent. I just meant that he is leveraging the name recognition, but did not mean to imply that it was all Matt has to offer. This song would not be doing well if Matt and Lindsey hadn't given such strong performances.

I was thinking...what did they hope to accomplish with posting a video to youtube? I mean besides the obvious reason of trying to draw attention to the song? It couldn't have been cheap creating that video. Why spend all that money just to upload it to youtube? They really haven't promoted the video/song all that much. They couldn't have possibly thought that the video would garner this much interest especially when you look at Matt's recent video plays on youtube. They are usually a couple to a few hundred plays. I wonder what they plan for the video and song?

Oh I just thought I should mention that from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM the video gained over 12.000 plays. At 7:30 it had 121,274 and at around 9:30 it had 133,805 plays. SO I agree csprof 150,000 by morning is quite possible


Well hopefully Matt plays some new songs tomorrow. I figured tomorrow I would only video all the new songs. Unless anyone has any requests?

Well not quite 150,00 but not bad at 148,490! Of course though it's still technically morning for 2 and a half more hours
