A couple of us in the chat thought maybe Matt should switch the order of his songs. He could start off with Georgia, then go into You Found Me, and then end with Hard To Handle. Start out slow then end big. LOL kind of like climaxing. Then he could end with a bang! What do you guys think?

Yes, I was one of the people who agreed with your song order, Jenna. I hope Matt isn't offended if someone suggests the change. I'm not even sure if TPTB will let him because of the band, lighting, video screens, etc. Maybe too late for any changes, unless an Idol were too sick and couldn't perform or something.

I can't wait for more reviews to come out. I wouldn't worry too much about the USA blogger. The only ones he really loved were Adam and Allison, so he's probably a rock fan, more than a R&B, country, pop fan.

Here's hoping some kind soul will put up some videos on YouTube by tomorrow!

I am dying to see some you tube videos of Matt. Hopefully someone took them.
Didn't OvenMitt go to the concert tonight! Can't wait to see what she says.

Listen the USA Today guy was the only one who did not like all of Matt's set. LA Times and Seattle Times did love him!
Rickey.org and his friend said Matt was awesome! The best of the first half! So we have to believe Matt will only get better after a few shows.
And I will still believe he will get some record deal after the tour ends!

I agree about the order of sings but don't think it will happen.
At the same time HTH is a great song to start his set, gets everyone moving? SO I am torn about this order change.

The thing that really pissed me off about the USA Today guy is that he ASSUMED the crowd was cheering for the song, and not for Matt's rendition of it. I don't get too bent out of shape if someone doesn't like Matt, but to assume the whle freakin' crowd feels exactly the same way he does is just wrong.

I know I thought the same damn thing. I was like and you know this how? LOL ridiculous! I remember this guy being an asshole throughout the seasons so don't worry. Every review I have read has pretty much said Georgia was amazing...the guy doesn't know what he is talking about!

That's ok I just wanted to let you know because there is a lot of other stuff down there as well...

After our chat last night I tweeted Matt saying loved the songs then I asked how he chose the song order-- sorry guys but no answer. I hope he wasn't offended-- wouldn't want Matty mad at me!

I can't imagine him getting offended by that question - it's relevant and an answer would be interesting. I totally agree (ITA...? still learning these abbreviations LOL) that Hard to handle would be a great way to end his 3 songs - but on the other hand I liked the way HTH really kicked things off - He just owned that stage
I am still a bit stunned and really surprised that the audience seemed to be kind of quiet and not very "on their feet". In HTH they cheered for him at places but when I looked at the crowd they were kind of standing still. Maybe it's just me (I would have gone crazy off course lol) or maybe that was not "Matt zone" I was looking at. Don't know - still can't get over how he nailed that song. OMG so vocally amazing and very Mattylicious

Yeah Cecilie, I was looking at the crowd too. I have been to many concerts here in Seattle/Tacoma and a couple in Portland and Vancouver. It always seems like the crowds are more reserved in the Northwest. (Unless you went to some of the concerts when Grunge was popular-which I didn't ) --- I actually got pushed down into my seat at a Rod Stewart concert years ago.

There is a variety of ages at idol shows--- maybe a reason- idk. I will be standing for Matty as much as possible (without risking too much bodily injury-- )

( I won't be waving a sign though as that really invites trouble!)

Really! how much fun is a concert sitting down?!?! Yeah maybe it's the mentatlity. I just was wondering....I mean since even Matt noticed while playing and singing - was it during Georgia - that the crowd was kind of quiet. Ah well can't win 'em all lol

Maybe he was too shockin freakin hot for some people.

I've been to a New Kids concert in Seattle/Tacoma where the crowd was on its feet the ENTIRE show. So I'm not sure there's a regional thing in audience behavior. But I did notice in last year's Idol concert that the crowd only stood up significantly for the 2 Davids (esp. the winner Cook). I think that's what we can expect from these Idol concerts -- audience reaction mirrors the voting results on the show. For Matt to elicit good audience reaction and enthusiastic reviews is just AWESOME! He must have been really great!! So proud of him!

Man, those jeans were tight, as he said! THE BGs got their JG dreams come true!

The funny thing is that I don't think those are jeans - i think they're actually tailored pants. I can't imagine how tight they were before he had them taken out! Maybe its because I'm not a BG but I prefer the jeans and leather jackets look - I loved him in PTL and HN.

Let's just say that I have watched the HTH video from Portland several times today... for research, of course!

I would say his pants were tight, but they're not jeans. I think they're tailored pants/ slacks, like sgr91 said.

Matty is (or should be) a star!!!` He sang, danced, played the piano, and ran around the stage like a seasoned performer. Matty just has “IT” in my opinion. In addition to being an incredibly engaging performer, he is witty and personable and the crowd LOVED him!!! He was DEFINITELY one of the standouts of the night. I found this on AI.com. Wormsarefunny did a great review (she was at the portland show) and seems to REALLY have been impressed with Matt!!

I have watched that HTH video way too many times, and I can't wait for more YT vids from future concerts.

My research is being done for my thesis paper on Matt. This requires listening to his music, watching his videos, searching for photos, reading his interviews, etc. I will study diligently in hopes of earning my PhD in Matt Giraudian Studies. I tell you guys, these classes are lots of fun! LOL
