LOL Ovenmitt I have to go back and read your other post about this in the LA thread to see which one you wrote first. Is this the panic one? I have to admit I thought the same thing. This really worries me.

Oh Jenna, I wrote this one first! I suppose the lack of talk about record wheelings and dealings freaked me out initially, but then I thought about it. Why would Matt make the mistake of blabbing about an unsolidified deal after what happened with the finale debacle? He's the type who actually learns from his mistakes, so he's keeping any info valuted up until it's final. In the meantime, why not plug your other projects that are finalized if they have no bearing on your Idol conract or any other contracts? Seems smart to me. I guess I just felt like we all do: we have so much hope that Matt will have something in the works, that every time he doesn't tell us that, we get all worried and wring our hands over it! It's hard out here for a Matt fan!

Yes it is Ovenmitt! I pretty much stress about it everyday. The music industry sucks!

Oh a whole tread about this so I now have a place to panic!! I agree that "I have been talking to people" is the equivalent of "I am still in limbo and no real big moves are being made right now" This makes me so mad when Danny Gokey is running around all over the place (and scott and LIL for that matter) about their 'big meetings" with major record execs, but Matt can't even tell us if he has been approached by any!!

I want so badly to believe that he has been advised not to spill the beans before any decisions has been made, so he isn't allowed to say too much. OR he just wants to wait for the ink to dry on the contract before he spills the beans...I don't know. In any case, it seems too unlikely that others would be approached about possible deals after the tour, and not Matt. Not with the way he has been performing on this tour, and gaining popularity. I just don't know what it will take? What else he could be doing.

Well, it will happen, I am sure of it if it hasn't already. So we will just have to be patient. Matt has the entire package: Talent/Skill, passion, AMAZING voice, he's young, gorgeous, studied in music, dedicated, has a solid fanbase and that "marketability" factor that means he can gain more fans, he knows exactly what music he wants to do and is proving that he does it well, and has had some of the best exposure any new musician could have with placing 5th on idol (far enough to ensure a great, dedicated fanbase, but he wasn't on too long to forever be plauged with the Idol stamp).

He's fine. Yes, I am sure he is fine. *See the way I just talked myself from the ledge there?*

I've been gone from the forum for awhile but believe me, I've been thinking about this record deal business an awful lot.... especially since the tour has begun! I'm under the impression that the reason Matt isn't talking about anything he has going (because let me be clear, I am 1,000% positive that Matt has something just ready and waiting for his Idol contract to be up) because it's not within the 19E bubble and would thus be a breach of his Idol contract to speak about it. Remember, we have to keep in mind that Danny's "contract" (because it's not official yet) IS with 19E so it may be something he's allowed to talk about.


And Leah (OvenMitt).... girl, you know you believe Matt's got something in the works! We JUST talked about this! And I've got a ton of theories about this so I may just make a new thread to conspire about them.... OvenMitt's dream come true!

Hmmm....all I can do is be patient and hope/pray for Matt's success however it'll be.

That's a great attitude, mattyfan! It's so hard being a fan and not knowing his future. I do hope he'll be signed to a major record label, but I think he'll be happy no matter what. Just as long as he can sing, play the piano and be respected by other musicians. He wants to entertain people and earn a good living from making music. Hopefully, he stays humble because I think he'll have a long career in the music business! I believe in him!

Anyways, it just wasn't the answer I was expecting. Sigh..

I just hope Matt really is in talks with some people as vague that answer sounded.
I am just scratching my head thinking that this Yobi TV thing couldn't possibly be the only thing he is looking forward too. I mean that's it? That's the only thing he has going on?

I am going to stay positive though and think like the yahoo music reviewer that said that after the LA show, she thought many unsigned idols would be signing a contract.
