IS this concert on Pacific time or Mountain Time? I am not sure.
Thanks to sgr I know this answer. It is Mountain Time but apparently they don't have daylight savings so they are 3 hours behind EST. So the show is on 10PM EST and 7PM Pacific.

Matt’s first two songs were fantastic and he’s a great performer, but the fray song brings him down a bit, he’s so much more effective with his soul-rock performances.

Liasdpride, Matt doesn’t sing the song badly at all. I think why it brings down his set for me may be due to it’s placement. He stArts off so high-energy with HTH and Georgia is exquisite. After that, the fray song is so midtempo that it didn’t bring that high excitement from HTH back or touch my heart like Georgia. I was very impressed with his voice, I could really see how the nerves must have affected him on AI.
Isn't this what we have been saying? Matt if you are listening change the order of your set...LOL! It's the song not Matt. I still kind of wish he would have chosen a different song but oh well can't change it now.

Lana, I was doing that too! I was so shocked to see some love for Matt on that evil site that I couldn't tear myself away to go to chat.
Another night of going to bed so late. I sleep like 5 hours on his concert nights if it's a work day. I can not wait for him to hit Eastern time zone. He is killing me in more ways than one!

From MJ's...
Right now there is a debate going on over at MJ's basically saying Matt shouldn't sing the Fray song and that he should stay away from this type of music because he doesn't sing it well. This however is the only post I am bringing over as most of it is complete and utter BS...

From what I have seen on the tour videos, I believe that Matt has a tremendous amount of raw talent. He’s by far the best natural musician on this tour — and he is self-taught and only playing piano for 4 years. I think his only hope would be to have someone who really knows music work closely with him to develop his talent. Just like Randy helped Brook.

I agree completely with this. And while I am one of those who wishes Matt would just give up the fight and do Soul/Blues/R&B, he is sticking with Soul/Rock. So I feel like he would benefit most from a major label that will have more of the means to put him in good hands, and give him some of the best material and producers to work with. *COME ON 19, Atlantic, Epic, Columbia*

I don't agree. I'm glad he is not doing R&B and I think everyone on MJ's is totally off base. I want Matt to be the musician/artist he wants to be. His own music will sound amazing and it will not sound like the Fray. He sings the Fray song just fine! The problem is the song is not that great to begin with and he is singing a song that is very current and extremely popular. So people are use to hearing it sung a certain way. IMO Matt makes the song better but I do wish he would have chosen something else.

I think Matt has a lot of edge and we’ll be seeing that. He is going to be the break out star. Matt would have won if Kris wasn’t in the competition. Kris had the traditional “puppy dog” looks that Idol viewers eat up. But Matt has the voice, entertainment skills, and the edge that is needed to be a superstar.

Yeah.. It's total BS. Of course he can sing The Fray. I just think people over there are now finally realizing the great talent that is Matt and are a bit confused regarding his future career.
To be honest I like both sides of Matt. The R&B pop side of him (Human Nature, So Small) and the pop rock soul s side of him ( YFM, Georgia, HTH). I really believe he can do both.. But I think he already decided he is going for "The Fray/1R/Gavin de Graw" type of music that suits him very well and is fine with me. I think he chose YFM to prove he can do current and relevant music to today's scene.
I still think that Matt could be huge fronting a piano rock band like 1R or The Fray. It would be a great way to market him. He's also said several times he would like to form a band like that. So the idea is up there.Maybe a major label might support that route.
Matt would benefit the most of having someone by his side that nurtures his talent and explores his potential, because he has so much raw natural talent that it would be a shame if no one tires to explore it and put him out there.
I am still praying every night someone gives him a chance, he's got IT. I believe that with all my heart but he does need major label support and a great mentor/producers by his side. Hopefully record executives already took notice of him. I mean how much longer are we going to wait?

Oh exactly which is why I had problem with Kris Allen. Didn't someone else also point out that Matt and Kris Allen were the true rivals this year? Whoever said that, they got it completely right. We will see who's the ultimate winner in the long run. I'm grateful for everyone who brings the comments at MJ site over here, because I myself just don't have enough patience and maturity to read them through...

Did anyone hear the radio interview with Joe King. He is asked what he thinks of Matt and Kris doing covers of his songs, and he LOVES Kris' take on heartless, but apparently thinks Matt tries to hard when singing YFM. I would really like to hear this interview because there is no way that this guy can complain about the way Matt covers that song, not if he listens, reasonably, to his original version. He's lucky Matt does that song becuase IMO Matt makes it sound MUCH better, and goes a long way towards redeeming the song IMO.
IDK...I'll try to reserve judgement until I hear this interview for myself.
