I can't describe how excited and happy I am every night reading all these glowing reviews for Matt from people who were not even his fans to begin with!He's turning heads and impressing people at every stop!
I am so positive about his future! Our guy sure has the chops to become one great successful artist.The "I Told You So's" will be coming soon after he gets signed which is close I can feel it in the air.
I saw the video thanks!. Matt seems so happy lately while performing. I am so proud of him, he's one of the few who taken this tour very seriously and is paying off big time.
omgggg i just came back from the meet and greet it was awesomeeee, they let us go into the venue cuz it was raining a lot and they put us in a small room to wait.
Only Matt, Danny and Kris came out, but it was greeeatt!!!! They were taking pictures, signing everythinngg u had, talking to everybody. Great experience, cant wait for the concert tonight!!
I love Matt he is so sweet. I wonder why the other idols didn't come. I mean they even put them inside the venue.

Yes.. He does seem a bit snarky. But Riley don't you worry! He clearly stated the standouts for him were Adam, Allison AND MATT. So all is good in the world. I just care that he is good to Matt and apparently he will be.
Interview with Matt. This interviewer was also at the show tonight and will be writing a review. This is what she said on twitter during the show. Although I'm not sure what reviews she has been reading because Matt has received mostly great reviews...

Okay, this Leslie Streeter seems a bit passive-aggressive, no? She started out the article by writing that SOMEONE from season 7 was rude, but she wouldn't get specific. Well, geez... there were only five girls on the tour last year. The only ones that I remember wearing red nail polish would be Kristy Lee Cook and Syesha, so that wasn't such a blind item, was it?
Anyway, Matt was funny and charming, as usual. Too bad she didn't get that much time to interview him. He was really on a roll with the Britney shout-out and talking about the drunk people at Monaco Bay! LOL

I just love Matt's personality. Sigh. Can he be more perfect? I am so happy for him! Still praying for him every night but I am so positive now that his future will be very bright. That record deal will come soon, I just know it.

Yeah, I mentioned this last night in the Tampa thread, too. Why are only Matt, Danny and Michael coming out before the concerts? And now not everyone is signing autographs AFTER the show?
There must be some truth to the rumor that Adam has a stalker or has received death threats. I suppose the tour directors could have told all of the Idols that it wouldn't be safe for any of them to go into the crowds, but maybe Matt, Danny and Michael insisted on meeting the fans anyway. All I know is that Matt has gone beyond the call of duty whenever he meets fans before the show. I thought it was kind of mandatory for all the Idols to make their appearances after the concert, but not before.
Let's hope that they can resume meeting the fans while still staying safe. I read on the AI forum that last year, David Cook usually came out before the concerts to sign autographs. But sometimes, he would refuse to come out if the fans were being rude or extremely pushy. Geez, why do a few crazy fans have to ruin the fun for everyone else?

Matt Giraud, one of three who played piano on the tour, was the night's biggest surprise. On TV, Matt was a subpar Justin Timberlake. On tour, he transformed into a young Billy Joel with an exponential improvement in his vocal strength, and the ferocity and dexterity with which he attacked his piano on Hard to Handle brought to mind early Joel.
I have been saying this snce day one yet I don't think anyone has agreed with me (until now)but he is definitely more like Billy Joel than JT! This is an amazing review and compliment to Matt. I am sure he will be so touched!
This review has made me so emotional. Billy Joel is one of my favorite artists and being compared to a legend is amazing!

Yay.. Jenna. I loved that review also. Matt is the new Billy... IMO he has the chops to have a career like his. It will take a long time but he is on his way for sure. I would have preferred Matt to be included in the big headline with Adam and Allison but Howard sure gave Matt big props and was one of his favorites. Such exciting review!

I think a lot of us here agree with you, jenna! I never saw anything JT-like in Matt, except a slight physical resemblance (Matt's hotter, of course).
The night he performed Human Nature, I agreed with Randy that Matt sounded similar to Robin Thicke, but I never really thought of JT. Justin tends to do dance music, and Matt never said he wanted to do that type of music. It was Kara who kept insisting that Matt reminded her of JT. He's always said he wants to do PIANO ROCK, so I hope this recent reviewer who compared him to Billy Joel helps to erase the Justin Wannabe label that people gave him on the show!
I knew that Howard Cohen was going to be HARSH after reading just a few of his snarky tweets. Thank goodness he gave Matt the props that he deserved. Everyone (besides Adam, Allison and Matt) is going to be pissed if they read this review. I think this guy sounds like a bitter Adan fan, since he basically implied that the only reason why Adam lost was because Kris is the Disney-fied Idol!

All I know is that Matt has gone beyond the call of duty whenever he meets fans before the show. I thought it was kind of mandatory for all the Idols to make their appearances after the concert, but not before.
