Gift for Matt during AI tour?

I know and I didn't even know about the last gift so I wasn't able to contribute. So this does make it easier!

And had to see what he was talking about. Pennyroyal turned out to be a jeweler who made custom designed pendants for the top 8 this year. They are all posted on his website here:

His website says that he sat down with each idol and created their designs based on his conversation with them.

I know we already picked a pendant for his gift but how about this one? It's a little expensive but if enough of us chip in we could do it. It costs $125. So if 10-15 of us chip in it shouldn't cost us much. I also emailed this designer and asked him if he could create a pendant with a piano on it. I asked him how much it would cost and if he could have it done by the end of August. I'll keep you guys informed.

So how about this necklas for the first show and then the cross Necklas for the first Michigan show?

He drew up a design and explained it so I thought I'd share so we could discuss it...

I also think it would be really cool to put some words on the back... sort of a "message from the fans" that he can carry with him as a reminder of how his talent touches people's lives. Something very simple... 5-7 words at the most. I'll let you come up with something meaningful. I won't charge you extra for the words on the back. I think this will be what really makes it meaningful. Let me know what you think. I like it and he really seems to get Matt's style but I really loved the guitar pendant more. Do we want to go with just keys or more like the guitar pendant and have an actual piano? I love the idea of engraving the back of it. What do you think we should say?

I really like the sketch he drew up. I like the simplicity of it and I think putting the writing on the back would make it more personal.

I don't know LOL good question. I think we should get the musical note pendant for the first show because he has a limited amount of them and then for the first Michigan show get the cross. The second Michigan show maybe we can get him the T-shirt and hat. And the last show I definitely want to get him the piano necklas but that one is more expensive so we will need more people to contribute than we have got now.

Shall we vote on it? Just post in this thread which pendant you want to go with even if for some reason you can't contribute because the gift will be from everyone on this board. Oh an so far I have only received one letter. Again even if you are unable to contribute send in a letter!

My vote the musical note.

I think the designer raises a good point. If Kris has a nicer version of the musical note piece, and of course Matt has seen it, then I think something different might be a better idea. Can he suggest something else?

I love the cross for MI show and piano key piece for last show. I really like the designer's description of the piano keys in the earlier post. I trust that he knows Matt's taste.

But I am easy. Whatever everyone thinks is best.

I'm thinking 3 pendants may be too many. I really like the idea of the customized piano pendant for the final show. In the interest of time, and if you want to go with 2 pendants, I would go with the cross for the first show. Tshirt/hat for the Palace and ? something disney or a different piece of jewellery (bracelet/ring) for GR. Of course a lot of this depends on how much money you collect. Also, I will have the photo book done if you want to use that as a gift.

Yeah I was thinking that 3 pendants maybe too many but I definitely want to get the piano one. Well so far 5 people including myself have donated. We have a total of $130 for this gift. I will feel bad if I got this guy all hype about making another necklas for Matt and we can't get enough money together by August. If only the five of us can donate money we are looking at another $60 a piece for the piano pendant.

Well I will give everyone until Tuesday to send money in but then I will have to order it. So which one should we go with? I will keep whatever money we have left over for the next gift.

I'm confident you will raise money by August. I think you will get more fans as the tour continues. Since the plan is to get the piano pendant for the last show, I would go with the other cross from Tribal Hollywood so they don't look too similar, plus its less expensive and will leave more money for the piano one.

Actually we will probably use the money left over for the shirt and hat for the first Michigan show. Then we need to think of one more gift for the second Michigan show?

Well I really like Tim's designs but I think we should take a vote.

I like the through the keyhole pendant so that's my vote.

sgr votes for the cross pendant through the Hollywood site.

Since I'm clearly incapable of doing this. can you maybe put up the picture of each of the pendants with the vote. Maybe in a new thread? I would if I could but this picture posting has clearly alluded me.

I like this plan. I think sgr91's book would be a beautiful and meaningful gift for the GR show. Then we could add a disney gift along with either the tshirt/hat or the book for either MI show.

I also think we should make a tour commemorable. With photos and video. Maybe something like a scrapbook or like the tour books they sell at concerts. We could make this for the last show and give sgr's book at the Grand Rapid show.
