I first noticed Matt during Hollywood Rounds when he sang Georgia On My Mind. I was like who in the hell was that...damn! For some reason he reminded me so much of Billy Joel. I remember calling up my friend right after his performance and was like did you hear that guy? LOL she loved him as well.

I really love music and it has often helped me through some tough times. I love Matt because I sense in him the same passion that I have for music...except he is actually talented lol. When Matt sings and plays the piano I become lost in the song. He has this amazing ability to interpret and make a connection to both the lyrics and the music of a song. For me Matt is the only genuine musician to ever come out of American Idol and I am proud to be his fan! I can't wait to watch this man's career fly!

Hi everybody. My name is Rachel & I'm 35 (almost 36) years old; I'm married (almost 7 years) and have 2 daughters, 5 & 2 years old. I've been a SAHM for the last 5 -1/2 years... I think I've lost most of my pre-mom identity as far as work/career goes, but maybe one day I'll get it back!

I came into this season of AI late, b/c I had sworn I wasn't going to spend as much time watching it as I had last year. I decided to skip the auditions and just start in Hollywood week. Even that I watched sporadically; so I didn't really notice Matt until Top 36...I initially took note b/c of how much he resembles my brother...but didn't start getting emotionally attached until I heard him sing "Who's Lovin' You"...at that moment I was blown away, completely hooked. Ever after that he was my top fave, and my affection continued to grow stronger & stronger each week. I was completely distraught when he ended up in the B3 after LGIO, which was an amazing performance, and it was at that moment that I headed to the AI forum and signed on, to see if I could somehow find out more, to send him a message telling him how wrong I thought that was, etc, etc. For everyone who has been on those boards, you know the story from there. It's been a wild ride; nothing I ever expected. But he has such a special gift, that it just drew me in. I'm so touched by his ability...My Funny Valentine gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. I can only imagine what his follow-up solo album will do.

Honestly, I just think he is one extraordinary person, all the way around. Good, kind, humble, profound, spiritual - - all these in addition to being mad talented. This is someone I want to see have some success in an industry that is almost entirely the exact opposite of what he is.

So that is why I'm here! To support Matt and see him through to an amazing, successful career.

I noticed Matty since his audition because it said he was from Michigan and that got me all worked up and excited and i've beenn following him ever since!
I loved all his performances but ihave to say part-time lover or lets get it on was my favorite. My favorite studio was probs stayin alive because i loved that song from before but he added a little hip hop twist to it and made it current and a song that you can dance to.

I've been a casual follower of AI for several seasons, but Matt's season is the first one that I'm actually emotionally invested in and was willing to vote. Since I saw "Georgia," I knew he was something special. My obsession grew to the point where I found myself on the AI forums... which didn't help, haha. From there, the addiction only got worse, and I am now an official Mattaholic.

Also, I like to refer to myself as the ultimate Bad Girl, as my partner is female and I haven't entertained the thought of a man in... oh, five years Hahahahaha... so you can imagine my surprise when I found myself willing to hand over an engraved invitation to.... ahem. Moving on.

I fell in love with Matt during his audition. The sound of his voice just caught my attention. I didn't catch his name at first and during hollywood week i kept looking for him, but they didn't give him much air time. However i spotted him in the White Chocolate group and after Georgia i was completely sold. I only learned his last name when he made TOP 36...lol.

I think we love him for the same reasons: his amazing, soulful voice, his piano skills, the way his heart pours on that stage, his beautiful personality, his simplicity and the raw sexual energy that emanates from him.
And the rest is history...

I first noticed Matt in the audition because i'm a huge Gavin fan, so I was excited, then Simon compared him to Elliott and I loved Elliott. Looked for him in Hollywood and one Dark Chocolate hit the stage and he sung Georgia I was hooked. There wasn't anyone else in the competition for me.

Anywho.....I am as shocked as anyone that Matt affected me so dramatically. I have watched AI since episode 1, never missed an episode, but was never interactive, never attached. But then Matt came along, and after seven long, jaded seasons I melted. You all know that he just has that "thing"- he makes you want to pick up the phone and vote for him. I resisted the urges until after "Human Nature", but then the dam (or should I say DAMN!) broke, and I have been rabid ever since.

So my husband thinks I'm nuts. So the dishes are kind of piling up in the sink (hubby won't install the dishwasher that's been sitting in our garage for months, so I really blame him). So I play Matt's songs on repeat and annoy my toddler. So? It's a disease, but it's the best kind to have. Let's hope alot more people will get infected!
