Cellcert Poll

I want to be able to source cellcerts this summer during the tour but I need to purchase some things in order to make this happen. I don't want to waste my money (as it is going to be a little expensive) if we don't have enough people interested in participating.

What I need are people who are attending the shows to volunteer to call from the show during Matt's performances so people at home can hear the concert. It is great fun and will help keep this fandom growing and staying stong.

I guess I don't really understand what a "cellcert" is or how to do it. But I would be willing to, if possible.

It's really quite simple for the person attending the show. All that person needs to do is bring their cellphone and call the person sourcing the cellcert and then that person broadcasts it through a server and everyone at home can hear the show.

I'm probably not going to the tour so unfortunately won't be able to help do cellcerts (not sure if I would no how to do one even if I went though). After what happened at the finale, I just can't justify buying tickets in advance when they might end up having the rest of the top 10 just do a bunch of group numbers. Maybe I'll try and get last minute tickets if I hear good things once the tour starts.

I voted "yes" cause I would love to hear a cellcert if anyone gives one.

Yes, I think? Someone at home is the host and the person going to the concert simply has to call the host while Matt is performing and then the host broadcasts it on the internet. I will have to look at blogtv.com because I have been trying to download Icecast but my computer cannot read the program. I was thikingof trying to use yahoo messenger but I'm not sure if that would work either. So thanks for the tip

Sure, we'd love to plan to CellCert for you all. We are gonna get to see and hear Matt and company just fourty six long days away! We'll be at Sacramento California's Arco Arena on Friday July 10th! We'd love to Share it and send it to you!

wow, this sounds pretty awesome, seeing as I'm going to the september concert and I'll be wanting some updates throughout the summer!

Didn't say I'd be able to host because I'm not sure atm...but I'm a possible! My show's not till August 20 though...so we'll see.

My show is not until August either. I will definitely host but then I will need someone to broadcast it for me.

How it works is someone going to the show will call me from their cellphone while Matt is performing and then I will broadcast it from a site where people will be able to listen. I think we should also have chats while listening. The board does have a chat room. I hope more people begin responding and want to participate. Also I will need someone to broadcast when I am at the show. All you need is a webcam.

Sorry I'm so late to reply to this post...I've been busy back at my "real job" called life, unfortunately, so I haven't been able to keep up as well on here...it's barely all I can manage with his FB, and occasionally Twitter (though I try to stay off there most of the time...too much of a time sucker)

anyway, I'm VERY excited about the possibility of listening in via a cellcert...I am not able to go to the show - budget is tight and, similar to mch, I can't justify the cost of the ticket for a good seat (~$85) when it's possible that Matt might not get his fair share...again. But in spite of that, I've still been bummed that I won't get to be there...

Plus I can't even wait to hear about how the show goes & then decide b/c mine is the 2nd one! (July 7)...sooooo, all that to say, that if you can organize the cellcerts, I'd be forever grateful. If you need help with the cost to get the equipment you need, let me know...I can help. It will be much less than the cost of a ticket, I'm sure!

Not too sure how it works , but I would be willing to give it a try ,if it's not too expensive. Mine is not until August too.

I'd love to be part of this and I'll probably skip work if the feed goes live otherwise I'll miss everything. Unless there's a podcast or something for me to listen to after.

No it's not expensive. If you are willing to source and have free long distance on your cell phone it shouldn't cost you anything. All you would need to do is call the broadcaster from the show when Matt is performing and the broadcaster will put it over the internet for everyone to hear.
