Well I choose one of his originals ! But since you said we can't do that I will play by the rules of the post!
There are just so many songs that I want to hear him sing so it's hard to pick just one. Right now the song I'm loving is Come Home by One Republic so I choose that one with the option to change my mind!

I'm daydreaming long and hard on this one.
hmmm.....it would have to be So Small. And he would have to make the same faces that he did on AI when he sings it. All that passion. I loved that performance. I would faint.

Well, it depends. If he's serenading ME, then obviously it needs to be a song about ME, so I'd have to either go with "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" by Prince (cause, obviously, once he sees me he'll fall in love with me) or "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" by Sammy Kershaw (a country song, but he would change it up to sound even more awesome, I'm sure). I'd turn to goo right in front of his very eyes. Sweet.
If he would want to do a funny song instead, I would request "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred and he would HAVE to dance for me. Cause I'm picky like that.

OK, I will play. I'm going to go with the whole serenade idea so I chose a pretty song. The song is "She" by Elvis Costello and since I suspect many of you have not heard of it, here is a video of a live version (it was recorded for the Notting Hill soundtrack).

Oh Sgr! Thanks for posting this. I wasn't familiar with this song, and you are right....Matt would melt a lot of hearts singing this!

There's some good stuff here! Okay, this was a really hard question for me to answer even though I asked it. Lol.
After much thought, I think I would want Matt to serenade me with Maxwell - Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder) (one of my favorite songs and I'm pretty sure I'd melt into a puddle and then evaporate if Matt sang it to me):

I absolutely love that song as well. I hadn't heard of it before Matt mentioned it but now its one of my most played tunes. I hadn't realized it was from Benny and Joon. Now I have to go rewatch the movie.

Great songs you have here! I would love to hear his rendition of The Luckiest by Ben Folds. Edit: This feels like a request though. So I keep searching the serenade. I take this thread way too seriously,lol.
It´s November already! Only couple of weeks and the luckiest ones will be at Matt´s concert. That is amazing! Can´t wait to hear about it!

Some oldie but goodie. I admire Tom Waits, his music exuberates Jazz, Blues, Soul... everything I hope to hear from Matt. I would about die if Matt sings to me any of Tom Waits' early piano songs.
One of my fave Tom Waits' songs. Can't believe it is from 30+ years ago, never gets old.

Hey everyone OK I would just faint if sang to me - period - not matter what song! But this one has a speciel place in my heart - even though all I have is this crappy (sorry) sounding version of the John Legend song Ordinary people. I tear up everytime I hear this - so beautiful - it starts at 3 minutes in.
