Yes! I got so excited about that tweet!

The EP thing sounds great, at least that way all of us can have Matt's new songs recorded in a our own little CD.

I am also wondering about the "exciting" news coming up! I would so like for that to be him getting signed but now I am doubting that because he wouldn't have mentioned doing an EP if that was the case.
Maybe he is touring with someone as an opening act? That would be cool.

On the other hand, Matt knows that many of his fans are waiting for news of him getting signed so who knows? I am praying!
Whatever it is I am just happy Matt's career is on its way and he will definitely get signed sooner or later.
He is taking the right steps to achieve that goal.

Whatever it is I am just happy Matt's career is on its way and he will definitely get signed sooner or later. His taking the right steps to achieve that goal.

Its like you were listening in on the conversation that Jenna and I had earlier! We also thought there is a good chance that his news may be that he's touring with someone. I think that would be amazing! It is obvious that anyone who gets exposed to Matt and his music instantly falls in love with both and exposure such as touring I know would bring him tons of new fans.

I'm also thrilled about the idea of having some professionally recorded music from him - I've almost worn out the mp3's that Jenna made from his concert. Although record companies sometimes do release EP's ahead of a CD, I would think if that was the case with Matt, we would have heard about the record deal first.

In the end, I am convinced that Matt is waiting for a deal that is right for him and I believe with the talent that he posseses and the exposure he's had to date, he has the luxury of doing so. (and of course I will be the first one popping champagne if I am wrong and he is signed!).

don't feel bad. I just learned this about a month ago. An EP is a compilation of a few songs that you can buy all @ once. It's like a mini album, but instead of like 10-12+ songs, there's like + or - 5 songs.

Some artists put them out to hold their fans over until they complete their full album.

Yeah, ditto to what y'all said. It sounded to me like the exciting news might be more details on this touring/traveling that he's hinting at. Man, even if it's just a small club tour on his own that's be amazing.

I also really like that he said he's working on an EP instead of an album. When he first said he was working on his album by himself I was like...yikes. But I kinda see what he's doing now. Maybe his goal was to first get some songs written how he wanted, then find a label or team who can help him turn it all into a proper album. At the very least, an EP should buy him more time to work on it (finding good producers, other writers, see what songs people like or don't like, etc.)

I know...I cannot wait for this EP. My sister came over last night and we were YouTubing. She's into country and kept wanting me to listen to Lady A and Kenny Chesney. After every one of hers I made her listen to one of Matt's originals. The thing I kept saying after every one was, "If you think he sounds good now, just imagine what the studio versions will sound like". And, "You realize that's just him singing and playing keyboard, to a song he co-wrote just days before, recorded by an amateur - who else do you know that would sound that good under those circumstances"? She agreed that his CD will be amazing!!

BTW - she loves Lady A and I showed her Matt's picture with them. She was officially impressed

I was VERY happy about this tweet..yayyy!! Hopefully Matt will be going on a mini tour by himself..playing at small clubs and stuff..that would be awesome! I also can't wait till his EP!! I think he's moving forward slowly but his time will come! Love me some Matty G!!!

Matt tweeted in reply to someone yesterday that 2010 will definitely be an exciting year! And he also said that he is heading back to Nashville soon!

Hmmm. He's having a lot of trips back there recently I am so happy this might mean things are happenin and moving forward for him! I hope.

I really think that Matt will get signed in 2010! Can't wait for the BIG news!

I can't wait for Matt to tour so we can all see him already!!!!!!

Do you think Matt will put a band together? I'd really like to hear him in a full ensemble if he does start touring, rather than just him and the keyboard.

I agree! I'm hoping he tours with a band. I really won't mind if he opens for someone big (like Gavin!). Then a solo tour to follow. I hope everything works out great for Matt! He's simply sooo talented.
