ooh i need to switch computers, so i can actually see these videos!
ahhh how amazing was the concert? i very nearly didn't make it because i missed my thurs flight due to snow and then my GR flight on friday happened to be cancelled. i finally managed to get onto another flight that got in at 6 (i was supposed to be there at 1) and we went straight to the venue from the airport. it was a whirlwind day, but i'm sooo glad i was able to make it.
i'm in love with all the new songs. "baby girl" is so damn catchy.

That's great you made it, lobirch! Please tell us more. Do you remember his set list...in order?
Hoping to hear more feedback from those who were at the concert.

Oh, man...the show was actually pretty long (although it flew by), so it's hard to remember exactly, but I'll try to remember what I can:
He came out in jeans, striped t-shirt w/ vest, without the band and did a bunch just on his own...including a lot of the covers he did on "Idol." This isn't exactly in order, but I know he did: "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?" -"So Small" -"My Funny Valentine" -"Human Nature" -"You Found Me" -"Hide & Seek" -"Have a Little Faith in Me" -"Bubbletweet with Matt G" -"Pants on the Ground" (I didn't make that up, did I?)
He probably did a couple others, but I can't remember exactly.
Afterward, the band came out while Matt went to change and they jammed for a bit before Matt came back with a white button down, skinny tie, and gray newsboy cap. He jammed on the drums when he first came out and it was really, really good. I knew he had played drums, but I was really, really impressed. During this part, he did -"Hard to Handle" -"4 AM" -"Go on and Sing, Boy" -"Let's Get It On" (a lot of people had requested it when he asked for a request during the first part) -"I Miss You Tonight" -"Breaking in a Broken Heart" -"Staying Alive" -"Whatever It Takes" -"Always Remember You"
Then, he left the stage again and Anna Wilson came out and talked to the crowd for a little bit about how she met Matt in Napa and how he was supposed to stay for one day but she waited in line behind Victoria and David Beckham to meet him and asked him to play again the next day at one of her events and he said he had to get back to Kalamazoo. But, then apparently, he showed up the next day at the place, ready to play and when she asked how he found her, he told her he googled her. (Oh, Matt...) So, then she started the duet and, when it was time for Matt to sing, he came out in a black suit and black fedora. The whole duet was amaaaazing live (even better than the studio version, in my opinion). They were really good. At one point, Anna took Matt's fedora off her head and placed it on her own and then at the instrumental break, they were both revving the crowd up about being #1 on iTunes. So, here are the songs I'm pretty sure they did during the last section of the concert:
-"You Don't Know Me" w/ Anna Wilson -"Love Ain't Meant to Be" -"Brand New Day" -"Baby Girl" Encore: -"Georgia" -"I Say Hallelujah"
...aaaand, it was amazing. I'm pretty sure some of my orders are incorrect and I could have missed some songs, but that's what I'm remembering now. Wow, this was longer than I expected. Hope it helps a little even if it's not entirely accurate!

The concert was fabulous! It was like a warm praise to real music.
The setlist was great, the new songs amazing. He knows perfectly how to build a show. His stage presence is amazing,it was so exciting to see him perform, every second. They had great energy together with the band. The audience was on their feet. What a great concert! I hope he can tour soon so that more people can have a blast like we did that night. I felt so privileged for seing that concert and defenitely want to fly those miles again some day to see his show again. He is da bomb!
