Matt's sound after Idol. What kind of music do you hope he puts out?

So I have been listening to Matt's supposed duet with Santana and I would love it if he put music out like this. Wow he was so sexy and smooth and his voice just wow amazing...so sultry, husky, cool and well damn HOT!

What do you guys think?

I agree with what you said! I am head over heels with his husky, sultry voice, and it was really evident when he sang with Santana! I repeated it several times on my computer because I couldn't get enough of it!!

Here's hoping (well, *knowing* is more like it ) that when he gets signed by a major recording label, I hope that Matt would stay true to himself and put out what he calls "piano pop rock, with a bit of soul" genre. Hehe. I'll be ecstatic if he puts out a song like Black Magic Woman! I'd love if he does more of the YFM type... maybe even mix it with some current sounding LGIO, and some hip-hopping SA kind... hehe. Actually, I'd love to hear him do some hiphop songs too! I don't know if that's something he'd like to do, but I just know that I'd faint a hundred times if I see him do a choreography in a video (some chest-popping, and pelvic thrusts maybe?)

I don't even care what kind of music he will put out, all I know is that I will love it! I'm just a teensy bit worried about when he would get signed. I mean, the top 4 has already made deals, and it's not like he is any less talented than they are, nor does he have any smaller of a fanbase. I mean, he does have lots of fans, doesn't he? I don't know why anyone can skip seeing the potential in him. Gosh! I hate waiting! It's like... waiting to hear if I have failed or passed an exam or something.

Hey.. How do you know the other 4 have deals?. Well.. Obviously Kris and Adam for sure have one, but there hasn't been any confirmation on Danny and Allison. Although I bet Allison will get one because she is very young and marketable and has a powerful voice.

Anyways.. I have this great feeling that Matt will get signed sooner or later. If 19 won't sign him I am sure someone else will. He will pull a JAson Castro.
IMO Matt has so much potential to break in the music industry.
If you've noticed, the "piano rock sou:l thing is very current at the moment (see The Fray, Gavin de Graw, ) so I do think major labels would be interested in him
I am just bummed he did not get to do an entire solo performance during the finale, that would have been more exposure for him in order to get attention from producers.

But i believe things happen for a reason and I am sure Kara and Randy will try their best to contact him with the right people. Please Kara! Matt is very fond of you.

I think Matt should defintiely stick to a "Gavin de Graw, The Fray, One Republic" type of sound. His recording of "You Found Me" is incredible.
I also hope his performance during Ellen was seen by a lot of record executives and or music scouts. He proved right there that he is a relevant artist to today's music scene.
Can't wait till the day we get an announcent of his record deal.

I would love him to do music/songs that bring out his fantastic vocal abilities. My absolut favorit performances were Georgia on my mind and LGIO - so more of that stuff. Actually some jazz stuff to - and RB and hip/hop - now I'm cracking up because I just thought about Matts comments on what kind of album he would want to put out after idol - think it was during an interview with the top 8 or something - and he basically made a massive joke about it - refusing to be put in som kind of box - I really liked that he sort of kicked their asses - LOL

But keeping it real, in order for him to make a debut album he needs to stick to one genre. At least in the beginning to jump start his career.
He can't just put an album out there with many genres, because it will not sell well. It is what it is.

I am happy he chose the piano rock soul thing at the moment because it is a current genre and it can be marketed well. He needs to be heard on the radio to gain new fans.
I also liked the R&B pop side of him . When he did "Human Nature", that was awesome, one of my favorites.
I do think Matt will bring "The Fray" sound to his debut album and I think that is a smart move.

I hope he gets signed soon. I am so excited about his future career.

I bet he'll do great. Actually I also like his "first impression" - the video a bit goofy maybe - but it still shows off his massive talent for singing

Have you guys heard of the band called The Script ? I love them, anyway their sound is something like the fray but more upbeat, I don't know how to explain it really, anyways they lead singer (Danny O'Donoghue) plays the piano in most of their songs, and has a great voice, Matt should do something like this, since I remember him saying something about wanting a band and stuff.... the band is from Dublin, Ireland. I don't know I just think this sound could really suit Matt IMO, anyway just thought I give my two cents.

Lol! Oops, sorry about that! I meant, they were offered.... or something along those lines. Someone in the AI Boards mentioned it. I'll try to look for some concrete information on the internet though since I can't really take their word for it.

So I just stumpled upon Jamie Cullums version of Pharrels Frontin' - I really like his approach to it and gives it this sort jazzy,hip/hopish/RB twist - quite the pianoplayer/singer
