- It's a fan report (don't even know which concert it was) and she was obviously a Kris fan and had some mean things to say about Matt's hair, but there were some very interesting comments about Matt that I thought were relevant. She met him during a Meet and Greet:
Matt came in and ended up sitting at the table right in front of the girls. I was the very first one to introduce myself had an extensive conversation with him. He was very cool. I told him he was a favorite of mine from the auditions. We talked about Michigan (my family is from there) and Kalamazoo. I told him I knew someone (Denise) from there and she talked a lot about the going to the bar he performed at. He asked me if she liked him because apparently there is a facebook page with 50 members called “I’m from Kazoo and hate Matt Giraud”. Kyle and I laughed and then I awwwwww’d. Poor guy seemed really upset by the thing. He then started going on about the Arizona heat and how horrible it is. This is a direct quote from Matt in response to every Arizonan (but me) telling him it’s bearable cuz it’s a dry heat- “Dry heat, my ass- it doesn’t matter. 115 degrees feels like 115 degrees.” I think I fell in love with him a little bit after that. We talk for several more minutes and I get a pic with him.
Anywho, back to Scott. He’s about 5 inches taller than I expected (he’s got a good inch or two on Anoop and Adam, whom I always thought were the tallest of the group) and rail thin. You would think with all the chocolate cake he eats, he’d have more meat on his bones. I was only able to speak to him for a moment because of the line, but I managed to have a pretty decent conversation with him. I told him I was so glad to finally see the dueling piano battle between him and Matt that was cuy from the finale. He said he was still kind of disappointed that they couldn't do it because he would have been able play a real baby grand, just like Billy Joel, but also said it was so much fun to do it on the tour. He thinks Matt is pretty incredible on the piano himself.
Danny, Scott and Matt were the only Idols left. I heard someone say my name and I turn around and it’s Matt who had said it. He not only remembered my name (it had been nearly an hour since I'd talked to him and he'd a hundred more people), but was seeking me out. I freaked out a bit. He just wanted to say bye. I told him it was so great meeting, talking to him and that it was incredibly cool of him to stay so long. He said it was the least he could do for the fans. It was at this point he hugs me and in doing so, nearly tackles me. I totally lost my balance.
So, it was an incredible end to a pretty incredible night.
I'm not sure what the policy is on the board about posting info from other boards, so I thought that I would just send this to you because I thought it was interesting. I promise not to be offended if you don't post it or anything (if nothing else, we can just leave this between you and me), but just thought that I'd let you know about this.
