Matt was totally awesome. The entire Boardwalk Hall was into him. I didn’t vote for Matt once during idol but he was like a different person hearing him live. His piano playing was fantastic. His voice was fantastic. His personality was exciting and sexy. Loved him. Loved his duet with Scott.

I really enjoyed him during the Atlantic City show, and he was my friend’s favorite of the entire show. He was also the favorite of the drunk dude sitting next to me. My friend commented that she wanted him to do a Justin Timberlake song (she’s been obsessed w/JT for a very long time). It was amusing in light of all the JT comparisons during the show, but from her it’s definitely a compliment.
I didn't add this part but she didn't like Matt at te Portland show because she said he seemed nervous plus she just wanted the exalted one to come out.

Well, it's been a few days since the Atlantic City concert, and there has been barely anything worthwhile to post. I have been checking at all the usual AI boards, and there have been so many complaints about this show and so few positive reviews! This is AN EPIC FAIL for whomever seat up the AC concert and booked it at Boardwalk Hall!
{UGH! } I read that the Idols were not allowed to meet with fans before the show. After the show, I think 7 out of 10 came out to meet the fans, but there was a lot of confusion as to where they should wait for them. Most people were waiting for hours outside the venue, but actually the Idols were signing in the underground parking garage! So some people missed their chance to meet the Idols entirely. In addition, I have heard that a lot of people were told by security that they couldn't stand up during the show, but Matt and some others assumed it was just a low-energy crowd. Some people said they got dirty looks from others in the audience that didn't want them to stand up.
I think part of the blame goes to those people who might have gone to the concert AFTER they had been gambling and drinking all day! I would suggest that next year, the Tour doesn't get booked in any casino towns, where some of the audience might not be there to appreciate the Idols. I remember that the 2008 tour did go to Las Vegas, but they aren't going back there this year. I wonder if the Las Vegas concert was a bad experience, like this year in AC!

Thanks for finding more Matt videos, jenna!
JFC, I didn't mean to imply that the Idols' performances were terrible at AC. I was just noticing that the fans who attended had a lot of complaints about the rudeness of the staff and security. Also, the AC fans didn't like that the Idols couldn't come out before the show. And the Idols originally thought that the audience wasn't excited enough to stand up, but it was actually the ushers who wouldn't let them.
So far, the only other time I can remember there being this many complaints was at the Memphis show. The Idols were delayed at Graceland, and no one came out before the show, besides Matt, Michael and Danny. Then after the show the crowd was pi**ed because they left for the airport, without signing autographs. Michael and some others complained that Memphis had lower energy, too. MEMPHIS + PI**ED FANS = FAIL!

:34:08ish PM: We made it to Mr. Five himself, Matt Giraud! With my fedora resting upon my head I sang along (maybe screamed a few times for emphasis) to his entire set. I have always been a huge Matt fan and he absolutely had me with his first touch of those keys. He was spectacular, kept the audience involved and alive.
We high-tailed it over to Mr. Matt Giraud next. Wow just wow. Talk about a ladies’ man! First thing he noticed was my hat and commented on how awesome it looked. (He signed it jdafkm!) He was the only idol who shook my hand and asked my name. How polite! I might have gotten a little too excited to get my picture with him because my body moved without my mind’s permission…next thing I know my arms are wrapped around his waist. He was totally caught off guard because he fumbled his water bottle that was propped under his other arm. (Oops!) But he was so cute about it, “Oh let me get that, so nobody trips.” Overall he was a super sweet guy and yes he’s just as funny as he is in his epic bubble tweets.
