| Man this is my first time listening to 'Go on and sing boy' and I REALLY (really really) like that one. Darn it! Oh well 'Whatever it takes' is still a good song, and both lost in the poll by a landslide anywayas so... | |

| I've been listening to I Miss You Tonight the most, and that is probably my favorite. Though, I think he should choose 'Gimmie A Break' for a 1st single. its an awesome song, catchy, and radio friendly. Something great for a 1st single, it could be a hit, ala Wait For You. | |

You know.. I've been thinking the same thing. I love "I Miss You Tonight" and voted for that one, but .. I think that "Gimme a Break" works better for first single and radio play. But still we have to wait until Matt gets signed right? I am hoping that by Jan next year we get some good news! Labels must have heard his originals already! Can't wait. They are fools if the don't sign Matty G ASAP.

| I voted for "Gimme A Break" cause it's got the most character to me. I also think it's the most representative of his sound.
If I'm being honest, I'm a little torn on "I Miss You Tonight." His performance of it was absolutely amazing, but the song itself and how it stands against the other originals is where I'm not so sure.
IMO, "Gimme A Break" and "Whatever It Takes" sound like they could be from the same album right off the bat. They've both got that upbeat, sunny, almost quirky vibe. They're Pop/Soul/Blues....similar to Jamie Liddell (check out this song from Jamie as an example) but totally Matt Giraud at the same time. "Breaking In a Broken Heart" is darker and sexier than those two, however the blues is still there...and with the final production I'm sure it would fit on the album as well. "Go On And Sing Boy" gives me a bit more of a country vibe than the ones mentioned above, but again, the piano playing is bluesy. So I think it could still sound like it's in the same family as the others.
"I Miss You Tonight" is where I'm thrown off a bit. While it's AWESOME and his voice sounds incredible on it (I actually think he sings this one the best out of all them), it kind of ventures off into that Rascal Flatts/Lady Antebellum sound. It's great, but different from the others. I think the problem for me is that the bluesiness is gone on this one, so for me it just doesn't quite match. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it'd still be great on the album since artists are allowed to be eclectic...but as a single/first single I'm not sure it would be the best choice. Just my opinion! I dunno if I'm making sense. LOL

I'm also not sure that I Miss You Tonight as his first single would show the world who Matt really is.
