If you look under artists Anna is listed as one of their artists. Sure this doesn't mean anything for Matt but doesn't hurt to make connections! Well just thought it was interesting!

I have the impression Anna is gearing up to release her CD of duets although I cannot find any announcement of a release date. What seems to be happening is that they are using "You Don't Know Me" to get people excited about the CD. But who knows what the event in Houston actually was? It must have been important because she brought the band, too.

I think you or Holley said this before, but it is pretty cool that Matt sings on the lead single for two different CDs by artists of completely different styles. And he is promoting both right now.

Music World Entertainment is a label founded in 2003 by Beyonce's dad, and a division of Columbia Records. It is the label that has Beyonce as its most famous artist, and also now is carrying Anna's new CD. House of Dereon is a performance venue associated with the label, but it is used for all sorts of other purposes.

I'm actually surprised more people aren't posting on this thread. I got really excited watching Anna's video. Matt was performing Thursday for people associated with Anna's label, which is a division of a major label! It doesn't mean that they would consider signing Matt, but still to me it is a big deal.

Meanwhile, the fact that a major label has picked up Anna's CD means it could do really well and get Matt some visibility that way. It is not the kind of CD that will have HUGE sales, but if you watch Anna's video, her CD is a really unique concept with an all-star cast so could be a contender for awards and the like. Matt's performance with her is the lead single, and it appears they are using it to promote the entire CD. It's already gotten Matt an opportunity to debut at the Grand Ole Opry, which is huge, and that is just the beginning.

Csprof everything you said in your last post is exactly what I was thinking and why I posted the information! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is encouraged and excited about this. The more exposure Matt gets with actual people in the music industry the closer he gets to putting out his amazing music and being able to expose more people to it and garner more fans!

oh and in matt's tweet he said exciting stuff and after the event he said he believe he made an impression. Both of these tweets makes me believe that this was important. Important for what who knows. Will it lead to something again who knows but IMO it helps him with exposure and of course gives him more experience.

Here's another small clue, although I have no idea who this person is. He seems to be affiliated with Music World Entertainment. I thought it was interesting that this was the Matt and Anna showcase, and not just the Anna showcase. Did Matt get to perform his own stuff? Even if he didn't, getting out there in front of label people and being awesome as we know he must have been has got to be a good opportunity for him.

Wow I was finally able to watch the video! Did anyone else notice that on the track listing Matt is listed first among those other great artist? It just hit me how honored and excited Matt must feel that his and Anna's song has been chosen to showcase this CD! Well I am so happy that Matt did that private event and blew those people away and that they were smart enough to grab him!


I just know Matt is going to make it! Will it be easy and handed to him on a gold platter no but I am confident that he will eventually get out of Michigan and be heard!

How exciting! I hadn't noticed the dates for Anna. I hope Matt is going to go on this mini-tour with Anna! I'm secretly hoping they will somehow wrangle one or more TV performances out of this too, like on talk shows, but I don't know if that is even possible.

And yes, I also noticed that Matt was listed as the first among a set of otherwise very famous people on the CD. You know that must make him very proud. He got this opportunity because Anna and Monte Powell heard him perform and were impressed by him. And then because the song did well on ITUNES, the video is able to make a big fuss about him. I love it.

I agree with you. Matt is going to make it somehow, and it is going to be based on the strength of his talent. Getting out there and performing in the public eye will help other people see what we already know, so I really hope that he is able to make the most of this opportunity.

I know csprof and how much more rewarding it is to fight for something and win it than when it is just handed to you! Not to mention instant fame is so fleeting while working your way up tends to have more longevity! Longevity is what I want most for Matt! I don't want him to be here for just a one hit wonder or even a few years! I want Matt's career to last until he is old and gray lol!

I unfortunately have not been able to get the video to play but I am glad you all are letting me in on that it is featuring Matt in a good light! As for Matt's tweet on making a good impression...I mean that is a given! The passion oozes from every pore!

Matt has made some great connections with some great human beings in the industry. They truly are ARTISTS! I was so excited when he tweeted he had met Billy Dean & then Anna. And then to hear how they raved over him...was just lovely! Ha!

We better buckle up for this ride. I think come Feb...we will be seeing & hearing a lot more with Anna's CD being released. (Can we wait this long??? Ha!)

I am hoping for those Talk Show appearances too!!!! I loved that you said that! Perfect TV for Anna...hopefully they are lining those up!

The "Mind Of Matt Giraud" again is an interesting thing! What he chooses to share...I bet he gets a kick out of all of our ideas on what it all means! LOL

I agree, they are fantastic. I thought that from the time Matt sat in with them at a little blues bar called Billy's in Grand Rapids back in the day! He was filling in for some shows Davy couldn't do. (the pirate is completely random, but I felt the need to use it)

I love seeing Matt perform anyway I can but I have to admit it's best when SweetJ is on the stage with him!

Anna has updated her website to include the video EPK that we have had on this thread and to highlight the Opry debut. Matt figures pretty prominently. She also lists a few other appearances (the ones Jenna found earlier), but it is not clear whether Matt will join Anna for those. Matt should be updating his Facebook page to point to this video EPK again (it was on there briefly before), and hopefully this Grand Ole Opry appearance because it is a huge deal.

Just now catching up on this thread but... AHHH EXCITING! Especially the tweets about the "unforgettable show". As Matt's fans, we already know the shows are unforgettable but again, I'm so happy to see other people having the chance to see him. All this new exposure is great! I'm excited to see what happens at the Opry!
