New Squad Challenge: Get Matt to 100,000 Plays on Myspace! Tips & Tricks

PoisionIvy came up with the brilliant idea of going and playing Matt's music on MySpace. She said it was something they did for Jason Castro to help get record companies to notice him.

If you haven't noticed yet, Myspace keeps track of the number of times an artist's singles have been played. Currently Matt has a total of about 72,000. I wanted to set a goal for us. Let's get Matt's # of plays up to 100,000 by the time tour starts! It's definitely doable. As I've been checking the statistics, he usually gets about 1,500 plays per day. If we wanna reach this goal, we just have to get the numbers up to 2,000/day.

If you don't know what to do, here are some tips:

• Go here: http://www.myspace.com/matthewscottgiraud

• Just let his music play anytime you're on the computer

• You can open up multiple windows to multiply your number of plays (I usually open about 3 or 4 & mute the volume on the players so that there's not 4 songs playing @ once)

• You don't have to have a Myspace account to play his music

• You don't have to login to play his music

• Beware: pop up ads stop the player after about 5 songs. If that happens, just refresh the page, or close them & click on the next song

• Sometimes the player freezes. If it does, just hit refresh. It'll start over

I figure it's worth doing. Especially if you play Matt's music while you're on the computer anyway. Now you can play his music while being productive in helping his career at the same time!
