Just an FYI- Utah is in the mountain time zone and it looks like the concert is slated to start at 7pm, which would be 9pm eastern time. Don't want you guys to miss Matt!

OMG! His voice do sound totally amazing on this clip! He keeps getting better and better, if that's possible. I hope he keeps it up for Thursday in LA. That is one important show for him. Paula, Kara and Randy will probably be there and lots of record label scouts! Yeah.
Gah. He is such a star up in that stage. As Kara once said: "Unbelievable on every level".

Review from Salt Lake City paper...

Two early performers who showed surprising skills were Lil Rounds and Matt Giraud, who both revved up the crowd. Rounds was soulful and sultry on Alicia Keys' "No One" and Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," while Giraud showed his fun, rollicking side with Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" and his passionate, edgy side with an intense cover of The Fray's "I Found You."

Yay Matt!!! Loved that she mentioned YFM. That song is always ignored in reviews. "Passionate and edgy" is the kind of man I go for. But I also like "fun, rollicking" men, too!! Put those two together and you have one perfect specimen.....Matt!!

I bought tickets to 2 concert solely because of Adam. I am also looking forward to seeing Alison and Kris.
But, having watched some of the videos, I am really looking forward to seeing Matt and Anoop live, without the glare of the judges. Matt in particular really impresses me.

Thought it wuld be interesting to compare Matt's live version of YFM to the Frays. What do you think?

Matt's version is better because: (A) I'm biased (B) PASSION...clearly not there in the fray version (C)The guy from the fray(can't remember name!) remains on the same note for most of the song BUT Matt changes it up a bit especially the "lying on the floor" part at the end..always gives me chills!! (D) Matt's voice is WAY much better!(I think we already know that!!) Am I making any sense?!

Add there his soulful, mellow side with "Georgia" and there it is;a perfect AI tour set of amazing Matt Giraud!

I also agree that Matt's version is way better. He just sings better than Isaac. His vocals are amazing. Sigh... Can't wait till the day he gets signed. Maybe a label will be interested in him signing as the lead singer of a band like The Fray or One Republic. JMHO.
PS: He is so beautiful in that pic!

I can't imagine how the judges would have bashed the Fray if they sang this song on American Idol. I'll start by saying that I really do like the song but I can see why the judges may not. I think Matt connected to the lyrics of the song which is exactly what gets me. However, melodically, its really flat - particularly The Fray version. For that reason, I prefer Matt's version (although I will absolutely admit to bias). He really colors up the melody, taking it both higher and lower at times. I think you're right in saying that Matt has stronger vocals overall than the lead singer of The Fray and I think he showcases that.

I couldn't believe when I logged on here this morning that you all were actually talking about this because I SWEAR on the way in to work today I heard the Fray's version come on the radio and I listened to a little bit (I had never really liked the song before so I hadn't paid much attention to it) but when I listened today I was amazzzzed at how much better Matt sings this song and his singing is FAR ABOVE and beyond the lead singer of the Fray... SOOO much better! ..I love it!! Matt sings with SO much more PASSION!!

The very first thing that popped into my head when I clicked play on the Fray singing YFM was Why is this guy singing Matt's song? LOL No lie, I guess that tells you who I think sings it better...
