I can't wait too Cacity! It seems like I have been waiting forever for actual Matt music. I just have this great feeling that he is an amazing song writer. I don't know why but I just do. LOL some of his tweets are just so beautiful, heartfelt, and vulnerable. I hope we don't have to wait too long to hear his music because I am not a very patient person. I wish he would post some of the lyrics. I would be content if he would just give us a line or two.

Great Interview-- and you can so tell that Michael is a fan! I loved how Matt said his fans DO NOT see him as a JT wannabe--so true! So Weight of the World is one of the titles he is working on-hmmm. Then, ever the tease, he wouldn't even sing or hum a line or two! Matt looked so fine in this interview and I liked the shirt style and color on Matty.

He said hes in talks again! and that song title looks really cool , can't wait to hear it!

Ooh la la! This one went right onto the favorites list.

So, lots of good stuff going on in this interview. Slezak, oh Slezak. How you've changed your Matty tune! Dare I say that Slezak has a crush on our guy? I think he might. I love that he brought up the finale, and that Matt responded about with a "I might go on the show and promote a new single". WHA? That makes me kind of giddy. And makes me more and more suspicious about this 19 thing. Perhaps Matt has become more than just the contingency guy for them? We shall see. And one more thing: it seemed like there was a handler off-camera that told Matt he couldn't sing the song he's been working on. When Slezak pressed for a few bars, Matt glanced off-camera and kind of took a cue to say no, he couldn't sing. More suspicions.

Beyond my ever-brewing conspiracy theories, I am ecstatic to hear that Matt is making moves and being proactive about his career. Whatever the outcome, I know us fans can expect some good music from him, major label or not!

I think you're right OvenMitt....I detected a little crushin' on Matt from Slezak too.

My take on this interview is that Matt has been talking to labels, but is just being very particular about who he signs with as we wants complete artistic control, even to the point of doing his own album if he has to. I've always said he's a smart boy and we know he's not exactly new to this music business. I'm sure he knows people who have had to compromise the music they wanted to produce because of the terms of the contract they signed.

It must be a very difficult decision whether to sign with a label who wants you now, but puts some restrictions on what you're allowed to do, or to wait and "hopefully" get an offer from a label who'll allow you to control the end result.

All conjecture on my part of course, but I'd be willing to bet some money that's what's happening. Could be why he's been a little down recently- maybe he was in negotiations and was excited and then they didn't give him what he wanted.

Mitt, I am totally with you on this! I didn't notice the handler when I first watched, but YES...there is something suspicious there indeed! He has not only name-dropped 19 but he is becoming more aggressive with what he wants, such as creative control....so I think something is certainly brewing!
