So I had heard about this a few days ago, and wasn't going to post anything about without being sure of it's validity (which I am still unsure about) But since things are SO (so so so) slow around here lately I thought I'd post just to maybe start a topic for discussion.
I found a thread over on IDF that found a source claiming that Allison's first single would be a cover of Kevin Rudolf's "Great Escape". I know I know A COVER? FOR HBIC ALLISON IRA-FREAKING-HEAT??? BUT I know Kevin's song "great escape" and it has, in fact, been like my summer song. It is the first thing you see when you click on my Youtube Channel. So when I heard this news my first reaction was Because I freaking LOVE this song so much. Then I was like WAIT (wait wait wait). This is a fairly recent (and well-known) single from Kevin that was on his latest CD so I highly doubt it would be Allison's debut single unless Jive is trying to shoot her in the foot I TOTALLY wouldn't mind her doing a cover for her album (because this is like my Fav song from the summer and Allison is one of my fav artists today) so I think she would kill this. But I just can't see this as a first single.
I guess since Kris's first single is a cover, I wouldn't be surprised if Allison's is as well. I like the song but if she remakes it, I would expect a much harder version of it - or at least that is the direction I would hope they would go with her (as opposed to the Miley Cyrus direction).

YES! I totally agree Sgr, that if Allison does do this song that they allow her to do it a bit edgier or "harder" than the way Kevin did it. Allion's voice is naturally grittier than Kevin's so I think however you slice it there's gonna be a bit of Edge, I just hope they liven it up by...IDK adding some bass or kick-ass guitar solo.
But even if this isn't Allison's single, I hope she does do a cover of this song. I mean the song is AWESOME and Allison singing it? She'll hit it out of the park. AND she knows Matt, so she can have him do that somewhat sloppy piano work at the end there. WIN WIN
