Matt Giraud 2.0?!

Chris Richardson. And for any and all fans of Chris R. this is not a dig against him! @AINOW posted an interview that Chris did with Walmart as apart of Walmarts current soundcheck series. Anyways Chris was there promoting an upcoming album.

As I was watching this interview all I could think was this could easily be Matt here and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference!! Not so much in appearance (though Chris R is one good looking dude) but in style, and attitude, musical tastes. Even the music from Chris' new album that was playing in the background could easily be something that was recorded on one of Matt's pre-idol CDs. Almost everything he said reminded me of Matt from what he wants his music to be (R&B, soul, Rock) to comparisons to Justin Timberlake. Weird.
Anyways just thought this was interesting cause I know that Chris' season ended 2 years ago, and if it took him this long to come out with a CD it has me worried for Matt. I guess Major labels weren't jumping at the chance to sign what looked like the next Justin (even though he wasn't) and I'm afraid for Matt to be labeled as the same.

If there are any Chris R fans here do you have any idea if he signed and why it took so long? Thanks

Yes but the difference IMO is Matt doesn't want to be the next Justin Timberlake nor will he be putting out music like Chris' or his pre-idol stuff. Also Matt can sing a million times better than Chris IMO.

Yes but Chris Richardson also didn't see himself as the next Justin Timberlake and he got labeled that way regardless.

But I think you're right Jenna that Chris's music, from what I heard of it, definitely has a Justin Timberlake feel to it, more so than Matt. IDK if Matt is necessarily a better singer, but his style of signing sets him apart from Justin and Chris a little bit. Meaning Matt has more of an edge and gruffness to his voice and Chris/Justin have a more smooth, tender singing style.

Being such a huge fan of Matt like I am, those differences are so apparent to me, I don't know how obvious they'll be to someone not as familiar with Matt. But I just thought it was kinda cool how similar these 2 were. I didn't watch Chris's season so I didn't really know much about him before, he seems cool.

You know I didn't really watch Season 6 - bec I was so upset about Chris Daughtry ( which of course is History now! Go Daughtry!)...but the little bit I did see of Season 6 - Chris Richardson was my favorite - i love his voice and his style of music - which you, Lana, are right - he is very similar to Matt. But like you said Jenna, Matt is alot more marketable overall! Matt does sing better than Chris too....but I do agree with what Chris says about anyone singing tenor like him (like Matt) will be called Justin Timberlake wannabes.....but personally I've never been goo-goo-gah-gah over JT.......so that's why IMO Matt's ten times better than JT even.....I think Matt's voice is richer and tons more soulful than JT or Chris.

But Chris does have a nice voice and yes, I can see the comparisons between him and Matt...and by the way...Matt is ten times hotter!
