Matt's new band

Can't wait to hear Matt with a band. I hope he tours soon and comes my way!!!

I listened to several of this band's songs and got a little worried. They sounded pretty rock-a-billy. Then I listened to a song from a performance at Billie's Lounge Feb 25, 2009 and heard a real nice bluesy number. Check it out at the link sgr91 posted , then under "sight/sound" (second to the last video). I guess they are a pretty popular local west michigan band. They say their lead singer decided to pursue "other options". I'm really curious to see how Matt will sound with them.

This is so exciting! To me they sound like a good band. It´s great that they have played together before. So they have a private show in Arizona 01/16 and they are heading there to back Matt! What can it be?

Performing with this band seems like a very smart move to me. It is an established band that Matt has worked with before. Because they are local and doing their own thing too, it cost far less to have them perform with him as compared to putting together a new band. Another bonus is that the band has its own fans in the area, so it adds even more excitement for the concert. And Matt performing with a band means he can get up from the piano some of the time, work the stage, dance around, and have a bigger sound!


I'm guessing they are joining Matt in Scottsdale as a dry run for the concert. I hope this all works out, and they schedule some more appearances soon.

Wow thanks Pasnthru! I felt the same at first. I was like wow they are very country so it was good to hear a different sound. I think most good musicians can play anything so I'm sure they will adapt their sound to Matt's music. They sound pretty good to me. I'm so excited that he has a band now. It's definitely a step in the right direction!

And I agree with everything you said csprofm. Except... I don't mind Matt getting up for a few songs but I hope he stays at the piano for most of the set. I just think there is just something sexy about a man playing the piano. Don't ask me why because I have no idea? Though I do find his dance moves pretty hot too!
