I had the chance to talk with some of the cast of the American Idols live tour this afternoon before the show in Ontario tonight at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Matt Giraud was the first one I interviewed. He had some interesting things to say. He actually went out and talked to the fans and signed autographs when they got in today.

He said last night's show at the Staples Center gave him a moment, where he felt he proved he was worthy of the judges' save vote during the season.

Also, he saw Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson at the show.

"I'm having the most fun I've ever had," he told me.

He keeps in touch with fans via Twitter (where you can get even more Idol updates from me at pecom_audiofile) and they'll tell him when they're outside waiting for him.

His impression of today's blisteing temperatures, "It's so hot out here!"

He says Danny Gokey is the funniest Idol and Anoop is the most serious--"he's the quiet intellectual." Giraud said Anoop does crossword puzzles on the bus.

Matt was a delight to talk to and it sounds like he's really been having fun on the tour.

Haha, thanks, sgr! Glad you posted this, I came here to do just that! ...I feel like half a fan because I only got a photo of a photo of me with him, but hey, it still completely made my day that I have even that! I was so bummed that I couldn't go to the show, so when this super sweet girl (she's the one who tweeted some of the things that Jenna posted further down - @RandomPenguin) that I met on the AI boards during the show offered to get something signed for me, I said "absolutely!" Then later I had the idea of having a pic taken of him holding a pic of me...I'm so happy I did b/c I love the way it turned out! And hey, I guess it's the next best thing to having a picture of real me with him!

It's crazy how excited I got over this today...but...it's Matty! This is the closest I'll get...for now...

OMG! I'm LOL at the fans who tweeted that Matt slapped Kris's butt, and the two of them were spraying the silly string after the show.

LONG LIVE THE KRATT BROMANCE! Oh, how I wish someone captured that Matt/Kris hijinks on video. That would make my day! I think Matt brings out the silly side of his fellow Idols, especially Kris and Anoop, who usually are more reserved.

WOW!! It seems like Matt is just getting better and better with every show. I can't believe how positive everyone has been about his set! I'm glad that he is coming into himself a little more, and is getting to prove how great he really is. I read somewhere yesterday, I forget where, that he said that he is happy about finally being able to rock this tour and prove that he was worthy of that Judges save. I always knew he was worthy of it, but good for him, and everyone else, who finally get to witness him at his best and performing like we all knew he could.

And Kratt is getting cute and cuter as this tour goes on. Hope to see more of them together.
