I was thinking that maybe he is doing a promotional for Michigan just like Danny did for Wisconsin. Just a guess.
I was hoping he will have some meeting with record producers these days in LA but I guess not.

I was wondering what he meant by 'a new project'? I assumed that it couldn't be anything that takes up more than a few days, since the tour starts in a week.

Didn't Matt say in his Comcast chat that he 'might be involved in some singing competitions'? Obviously, he couldn't be a contestant anymore... So does that mean he would be a judge, a mentor, a piano player, etc.? Hmmm... Don't Forget the Lyrics is another singing program on Fox. I think Matt would be funny there.

My first instinct is that Matt might be involved in promoting/judging a Michigan Idol contest, or something of that sort.

O/T, I know there is going to be a tribute to MJ at the Motown Hitsville Museum tonight ~ kinda wondering if Matt will show up at that event.

It could be a Michigan promotional thing. A friend of mine is a local actor and I know that he did a commercial for "Pure Michigan" (Michigan tourism board) just last week.

I live in Ft Wayne, IN which is just about 45 mins south of the MI state line and I can get too Kalmazoo in about 2/1/2 to 3 hrs so I'm VERY excited that I now know that at any time he will be just a skip and hop away from me when he is in town doing something! Plus I go up to the western edge of MI alot to Lake Michigan in the summer time so Heck YA I would LOVEEEE to see Matt's sexy face on a billboard!! wooohoooo!!!

Well I guess we now know it's the talent show project. I don't have anything positive to say about this so I'll leave it at that. Can't wait to hear some music news!

I'm assuming from the company he's keeping that the singing talent competition is for Yobi.tv. He seems to be enjoying himself and maybe we get more video of Matt out of it so I'm all for it.

I was hoping it was the Pure Michigan promotion thing. That promo is on CNN/MSNBC about 100 times a day!! I could see that out here in Washington!! The talent show?

Anything that keeps Matt's face out there is a good thing. He needs to embrace his community because they will always embrace him back. It's like with Elliott Yamin-Richmond, VA supported him immensely and still does, he always goes back. He was able to do a State Fair show soon after the Idol tour, pretty much headlining, and draw thousands. Maybe Matty has this sort of plan in mind? You know that he is so passionate about music so I love that he's reaching out and encouraging and inspiring others. Jenna I wish you didn't worry so much, it gets me down!

Janizzle, I definitely agree that Matt needs to keep up good relationships around Michigan. He is a friend of the governor, after all!
He's mentioned that he will do some gigs in Michigan, hopefully in venues larger than a bar. I like the idea of playing at state fairs, city celebrations, etc. where there will be thousands of people, some who have never watched American Idol. This is a good way to broaden his fan base, even without a recording contract yet. I have noticed that David Archuleta has been promoting himself in state/county fairs recently, since it's a lot harder to get booked on a national talk show during summer reruns.

Also, Matt needs to hook up with an established singer or band, so he can open for them, even just for a few shows. I'm not even sure which singers will be on tour this fall, but Matt needs a good agent/manager to steer him in the right direction.

BTW, I hope we can watch that Michigan talent competition on the web or on YouTube.

I'm not worried over this? Sorry if you got that impression. I was just hoping it was something else.
