| So Matt posted a tweet earlier for his song of the day: Brighter days by leeland. At first I thought nothing of it, because I never heard of this band, and Matt sometimes seems to have weird taste in music, so I leave it to him. But ONTD_AI posted this and added this qoute from the song:
And I’m looking for the brighter days When all my hurts seem to fade away I’m looking for the brighter days to come my way
Faces come and faces go But none seem to look my way
People over there seems to think that it signifies Matt's state of mind right now, and this quote from the song is very discouraging, so I decided to check out the whole song (backwards I know). Anyway the whole song is sort of a downer (beautiful and moving) but it doesn't really encourage it's listeners of a good and happy time. It almost has a defeatist mood.
Anyway, I hope I (and the folks over on ONTD_AI) are reading way too much into this and Matt just posted that song because it is a beautiful melody. (very touching song indeed) and this does not have any significance on Matt and his current state of mind. Here's the link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M70-D_sV1Ak
Someone please convince me that it doesn't mean anything...

| Ok, I've convinced myself that it is just a beautiful song, and that's why Matt posted it... | |

| Wow that was a beautiful song. Who else is thinking damn I would love to hear Matt sing and play that song? I don't know Lana, Yeah it's a little sad but I think it's actually a song about Hope. - Quote :
- Time keeps moving on
Through the sunshine and the storm And my dreams are set in stone And someday I’ll be who I want to be For now I’ll wait For the sun to shine again And for now I’ll wait For the rain to pass away
And I’m looking for the brighter days When all my hurts seem to fade away I’m looking for the brighter days to come my way
Faces come and faces go But none seem to look my way And walls have stood and walls have fallen But my heart seems to wait For now I’ll sit at the end of the road And for now I’ll wait At the end of the pathway
I’ll see the sun one day shine upon me I’ll see the sun one day And watch the nighttime turn to morning But for now it all comes back around

This quote from the song is really beautiful, and again hopeful is a better word than defeatist. I think hope was the point of the song. Now Matt's got us analyzing songs I'll just keep faith that people out there know that he is too good to pass up on, and keep the faith and a positive attitude. ETA: Matt would sound GORGEOUS doing this song...

| That's such a beautiful song Lana. Thanks for posting it. I think it might reflect what Matt is going through a bit of a downer right now, but it sure seems very hopeful at the same time. Like he is still hoping something might happen! You will have a brighter day Matty G and you will get signed. I really really like this song... Thanks Matt for letting us know about it. I've never hear of them before but they are very good. I just love Matt. He is so deep and fun at the same time. He is also very sensitive and I love that about him. He is crystal clear you can tell what he is feeling always. | |

| I had never heard this song before but it is a beautiful song. Interesting that based on the comments it is a song of faith and we know that Matt loves and sings gospel music. Maybe that is where he is right now what with all the craziness in his life right now. | |

I know gracie, you might be right. He might be in that place right now. By the way I really love how Matt looks in you signature. To be honest I miss that haircut! The faux hawk is cool but today I saw videos of him in Baltimore and it looks like he shaved his head even more. I guess he wants to be even edgier, but I hope he lets his hair grow in the future. He looks so cute with his curls! JMHO

| God I am so excited for Matt's music! I am starting to get impatient. I mean don't get me wrong this is the best summer ever and I can't wait for my 3 shows but I really want to hear music from Matt's heart. I can't wait until we get to hear his first song. Weird how this song has made me think about how much I want to have music from Matt! | |

| Aw, Leeland is one of my all-time favorite bands! They are a Christian rock band. I can tell you for certain, this song is not supposed to be depressing or sad...it is written from the perspective of someone looking for HOPE, like some of you mentioned. Looking toward "Brighter Days" as the title states. Everyone goes through valleys...for Matt it could be the busy pace of life right now. Maybe he's missing family or friends? Maybe he's still uncertain as to his music career path? Whatever it is...I am glad Matt is reflecting on music that feeds the soul. He is keeping himself grounded...and that is a wonderful encouragement! And I would be more than ecstatic to hear Matt put out Leeland-type music. Check out some of their other stuff! They are very talented. | |

| Aww..it's a very beautiful song. I look at it as a song of Hope too. Matt knows how much his fans love him. I heard DC was kind of a tough show so maybe he was feeling a little down...or maybe it had something to do with the Veterans Hospital he visited yesterday. You know no matter how happy we are, we all have days where we feel a little down and out. Maybe he was jut in a mellow mood yesterday. Don't worry too much.
Matt Giraud we love you!

| What a perfect, beautiful song for Matt to pick to speak about where he's at at this point in his career. | |

| It's funny how everyone at ONTD_AI jumped on Matt's case as soon as they saw his tweet about the "Brighter Days" song. It was just an opportunity for them to make another "SCORNED MATT" joke. Oh, that's not getting OLD at all! [SARCASM] The song is OBVIOUSLY ABOUT HOPE, as many of you have said. There's no need to worry about Matt being depressed. JMO, but he was probably just feeling a little down at the time. As Cacity87 said, maybe Matt is feeling uncertain about his music career, but he's definitely not going to give up! He has lots of followers on Twitter, and I'm sure most of them are giving him messages of encouragement every day! | |
