1st Annual Mattypalooza

Thought I would start this thread so those that are going to GR, and those that are hoping to go, can share plans and ideas for that weekend.

Who all is coming to GR? I know for sure that Cecilie (#1 devoted Matt fan), Jenna, sgr91 and I are going. It's time to coordinate things so we can stay at the same Hotel Matt, where all things are Mattalicious. (That just even embarrassed me!)

I am excited and can not wait to see Matt at his home concert. And can not wait to meet other forum fanatics!

I thought we were staying at Sgr's house on Friday? So are we just talking about needing a hotel on Saturday night?

Friday night is at sgr's house - slumber party one and all. Is it OK if I invite everyone over, sgr??

Then Saturday and maybe Sunday night we would be at hotel. It is possible we could stay in Kazoo Saturday night so we could go to those bars. It would be nice to stay over in GR on Sunday night too. Then we could take Cec to the airport from there. Jenn, can you stay over on Sun too??

Sounds like fun girls, but something tells me that I'd end up killing the party if I went! I know that you all will have a great time and I can't wait to read your recaps and see those beautiful pictures and videos!

I'm definitely probably down with the whole Saturday night staying in Kzoo and hanging out and having a blast! Maci..were you thinking of us getting some rooms together??..my finances are going to be very tight also so this would be the best thing for me to be able to split a room with someone??? I prob won't be staying Sunday night..I will probably head home after the show.

Yes, I think we can all cram into hotel rooms to save money. I have no problem bringing in cots! And we can pick cheap hotel for our Hotel Matt. If it's cheap enough maybe you can stay Sunday night too. I am so happy you are coming!!! Yay!!!!

OMG I sooo want to be in on this party. We could spend Saturday just really getting ourselves worked up to see our man on Sunday! Also - I would love to see that Bar where Matt played. Right now it's just a dream for me. I'm not sure financially it is doable. Georgia is such a long way and i've already been to 2 concerts! I'm sure my hubby will think i've totally lost it. So i'm not totally cutting it out because I'm a dreamer - and it's something i really really want to do! I want to see the concert and def want o see Matt - but seeing all you beautiful ladies and hanging with you all and talking about our common denomenator is what i'm really excited about! I'm praying - and wishing and hoping!

Where is SGR - haven't seen her around lately????

I am planning on going, bringing my daughter and her best friend too. It is my daughter's 15 birthday the day of the concert, so she is pretty excited! I need one more ticket - looking to try to get on the Floor, since the girls are on the floor and I don't want to be too far away from them.

We are staying with family a couple hours away but will be there early on Sunday. Want to hook-up with y'all!

That is great! I am going to come up with a specialty drink in honor of Matt for Friday night. hmmm..... any ideas, let me know. One idea is a Dirty Martini for us dirty girls. I also love Sex on the Beach drinks too. This will be fun to think up a drink.

I wish I could go with all you guys to GR, but it's just not happening. I live too far away and plus got take care of two little boys.

After talking to Cecilie and Lisa M on the phone yesterday it is clear that, damn, we are going to have fun GR weekend!!! That is going to be an amazing 4 day crazy weekend. We are spending lots of the weekend in 2 college towns, Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo. We will be showing those college kids how to have some fun!! Woot! Woot!!

Omg Macigirl!...that was soooo fun AND funny talking to you!! I think we are all going to have an absolute BLAST! I think Cecilie will be wanting to make more trips back to the states after she spends the weekend with the likes of us or then maybe not!!

We are looking foward to meeting you too! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! We should have early brkfst Sunday and then head to the fences for the meet and greet before the concert. My husband knows i want to go now, so even if he can't be off - i will be there! If there's a will there's a way...right SGR?!!!!

If you are drive through ATL we could all hook up and have a fun road trip to GR, MI!

Depending on weather, I want to leave Thursday after school, getting to Birmingham or Atl, and drive Friday am to get in Friday night to AA. I'm the only driver so I have to break up the trip. Are you leaving Mon am to drive back down?

Wow this party or mattypalooza turned from 3 people into how many now? Let's take an account. I am starting to get confuses by who is going and what is happening so I need more details. I know I'm driving up from Ohio after work on friday and coming to sgr's house. What else is happening?

This is going to one amazing weekend! Matty and friends what else could be better!

Here's an update on Mattypalooza:

Who's coming: ME, sgr91, Jenna, Cecilie, Lisa M, 2kids3dogs, lovethemtigers. Anyone else??

Friday night we go to sgr's in Ann Arbor for a slumber party celebrating Matt. We will worship him on her big screen TV. Lisa M and I have a surprise!

Saturday afternoon we will "do" Ann Arbor. Shop, eat/drink outside and people watch, and just enjoy this very cool city.

Late afternoon we will head to Kalamazoo which is an hour and a half west. But on the way we can go on a brief Matt stalker journey to Ypsilanti which is 10 minutes from Ann Arbor. Matt grew up in Ypsi so we can drive by his previous haunts.

Saturday night we will hit the bars in Kazoo. Where ever Matt played, we will be there! I have been to Monaco Bay once (at Matt's homecoming) and this is a FUN bar. School starts for WMU that Tuesday so students will be back in Kazoo even though it is a holiday weekend. So the area should be full of students and fun. Staying overnight in Kazoo.

Sunday get up and out and head to GR which is under an hour away. Get to those fences! See the concert! Stay over in GR. Head home on Monday.

I can drive to Kazoo/GR from sgr's. We will all fit because Tigers and 2kids will be driving with their families there. Or if need be we can take 2 cars. I will let 2kids and Tigers know which hotels I book so we can stay at the same place hopefully.

My main Mattypalooza mission will be to insure that Cecilie meets Matt. I don't care what happens, this group will do what it takes for Cecilie to talk to Matt. And since it appears that some of us are not very shy hopefully this won't be too difficult to pull off.
