Great posts everyone! Sorry I wasn't here for the conversation mother duty called but you don't know how badly I was go though Matt withdraws today.
Anyway this has nothing to do with San Jose but kind of fits in the current topic of conversation.
I found this on MJ's and found it interesting...

I don’t know how much it matters how many followers anyone has on witter, but since someone asked for the numbers of the AI people, I went on there to look i up. Please note that I may have missed somebody (or several somebodies) as I’m not sure whoall actually is on twitter. I know that David Cook does NOT have a twitter account, nor does Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson or Clay Aiken or Fantasia (although there are fake twitter accounts out there)
Ok:
Jordin Sparks 193,867 David Archuletta 134,414 Adam Lambert 101,281 Danny Gokey 81,444 Jennifer Hudson 57,189 (not sure if this is a real or fake account) Kris Allen 55,042 Chris Daughtry 52,280 Matt Giraud 38,545 Anoop Desai 37,297 Allison Iraheta 24,565 Brooke White 16,917 Scott MacIntyre 16,040 Blake Lewis 15,892 Jason Castro 14,098 Michael Sarver 11,843 Michael Johns 6,310 Taylor Hicks 3,228 (not sure if this is real or fake) Ruben Studdard 1,571 (not sure if this is real or fake)
Not bad for a 5th place finisher. Also I am keeping track of his twitter followers since 7/7 (don't ask me why because I have no clue...I'm crazy) and 7/7 then he has gained 3407 followers. It will be interesting to see how many he has gained at the end of the tour.
Oh your welcome everyone. I have to say it is a lot of work but LOL it's not a difficult chore looking at Matt pictures and video!

Matt, WOWWW, he was another surprised. He has great vocals, needs to work more and he is an awesome pianist. He had some of the crowd standing.
Needs to work more? On what?

Hey Jenna! Hope you had a great day with your son. I totally get Matt withdrawals during the day. Heavy mother duty now with my 1 year old. Heh. But I always try to catch up here during the night.
In any case, anyone knows if the LA show will be very important? I do think so. I can guarantee some record labels and exec must be there. Also, anyone knows about the doubt I have if other record labels can approach Matt during the tour or do they have to wait until Sept? Just wondering..
Great to read about Matt's twitter stats. Looks good to me. ( Record deal will come soon) I am so sure! Yes siree!
Anyways..

Yes Matty I did have fun with Jayden...Thanks!
As far as your question about record labels approaching Matt... I'm sure they can but he won't be able to sign with anyone until after the tour is over and he is released from his AI contract. I would think if record labels execs were going to any show it would definitely be the LA show and maybe the NYC show.

I was thinking she meant his vocals needed a little more work but if that is the case I'd tell her to invest in a hearing aid!

I don't know anything about the person who wrote this review, but I think he/she might have meant that Matt is so talented that he should be getting more work (more gigs). The way it was written was somewhat confusing, so it might have seemed like he/she thought Matt needed to "work" or improve on something. Just my 2 cents!

Does anyone else love Matt's voice in the Beggin number. Damn it is hot and so sexy! I love all of the things he can do with his vocals. He seriously is not given enough credit for his amazing vocals and I blame that on Adam! Also isn't the Beggin dance so cute?

Ok I just have to comment on something here. Watch the Don't Stop Believin video real closely. Does anyone else notice how different both Scott and Matt look while playing the piano. Scott seems all stiff and passionless while Matt is making love to the piano. Gah I love the way that man plays! He moves his whole body not just his fingers! Geesh I am being over the top tonight. Guess I was gone too long today...LOL!
So who is going with me to Michigan when he has his solo shows after the tour? We can rent a huge bus to cart everyone there...LOL!

I so wish I could go Jenna! But I am too far away and family tied to get there. I want all the recaps and inside info though. Hopefully by the time of his solo shows he will have some record deals already sorted out. I can't wait for his recording career to start. Hey, are you guys at the chat every night or only during the cellcerts? Pls let me know so I can drop by once in a while.

So far, there has been only two reviews of the San Jose concert posted at the MyIdol forum (americanidol.com). I wanted to read what other people thought of the Oakland concert, but apparently no one has posted anything about it for some reason...
It seems like this waterman40 was very impressed by Matt and had some great comments about him: We were at the San Jose show last night, awesome concert!... Matt Okay the show really started now. Matt gave the kind of performance he really couldn't capture on the show. Must I say I wasn't a big Matt guy going in? He blew the house down, the FIRST standing ovation of the night went to Matt. The piano playing, the voice, he can carry an arena. I was blown away, my #2 favorite for the night, and again, he wasn't even someone I considered voting for on the show... The lighting and graphics show were out of this world, and Adam, Matt and Scott rocked the house all night.
Yeah, another guy who went to the concert for Adam, but ended up loving Matt, too! I think Matt wasn't able to showcase all of his talent during the season because 1.5 -2 minutes was not enough time to get a sense of how incredible his piano playing really is. Instead of spending so much time on the judges arguing with each other, the producers should give the contestants an additional 30 seconds per song! Matt always sounded much better on the full studio versions of his songs, partly because he had at least three minutes (twice as long as the show performances) to show off his range and vocal skills. A lot of people now think that Matt was one of the most underrated contestants of the season. I'm glad that Matt is in the first half of the concert, since most people say that he was THE stand-out performer before the intermission!

The reviewer on AI boards also said this...
Quote :
Allision Now this is hard, I voted for Allision all the way through, and didn't switch to Adam until Allision was voted out. I think she suffered from post-Matt, and though she did a nice job playing guitar, even her final "Barracuda" wasn't all that. She was well received, but I think she needs to play younger, more current music. Her duet with Adam of "Slow Ride" near the end of Adam's set was fun, but it didn't have the impact it did during the AI show.
Interesting!

Another review from MJ's...a Anoop fan
Quote :
att- I love it when he’s up moving around on the stage more than when he’s on the piano because he has great stage presence. Again, I do not classify “You Found Me” as a mood killer since he did a great job on it and people around me seemed into it. People sit when it’s a slow song. My friend liked Matt the best from the first half.
Group performance- Once again, my eyes go directly to Anoop but I did try and look at the others and Matt is good too. Scott is awkward to look at when he’s doing the choreography. Beggin’ is still the best part no matter what seats you have.
I love Matt when he is moving around the stage but I'm IN love with Matt when he is on the piano! I have to say I was kind of shocked when the reviewer said she preferred him off of the piano. Guess different strokes for different folks right?
Good to hear that about You Found Me because I am still worried about that song. Matt has some balls for picking a song he was slammed on!

Totally agree. I love Matt either way, but he is at his BEST when he is on the piano. He really looks like a star, when he is singing and playing at the piano.
I actually think a major label might be interested in signing Matt as part of a band where he is the lead singer at the piano like The Fray. What do you guys think would you like him better as a solo artist or as a part of a band? I think he could succeed both ways. JMHO. I just can't wait for his career to start.
