Matt signed to Atlantic Records?!?!

So I wake up this morning and since I'm on Eastern time, I have to spend like an hour going through everyone's posts and tweets .....well on Twitter, I came across someone saying that Matt got signed to Atlantic Records last night??? Does anyone know if this is true or did anyone else hear this?!?!

Hope it's true. Could be just a rumor but the words don't come out nowhere...

OMG!! OH gosh I want this to be true SO bad, but is it evewn possible for him to sign while still under contract with 19???

Unfortunately, I believe this is just a rumor (for now!). In last night's frenzy of Matt fans trying to drum up buzz about him on Twitter, a few individuals made up that story to get Matt's name trending. Not that it's not a real possibility, with all we know about Matt's music connections (Kara, Diddy, etc...), but even if it were true, the Idols are under contract with 19E until August 20th. I think the only signing news we'll hear about until then is the oft-discussed, tediously speculated yet perhaps inevitable Gokey country deal.

No, its definitely just a rumor that was put out there by some of his fans to get his name. I remember when they posted it. We'll have to wait a little longer.
