Who will be the next Idol to get a record deal? Great article and poll

They article talks about the chances of the rest of the Top 10 on getting record deals.

They believe that the AI tour is either make it or break it time for them.
They basically say that if they are not approached by the end of the tour in Sept they never will be.

But... The good thing is that they do think Matt will be the next logical choice to get signed even though Danny might be getting one inevitably.

Also there's a poll on there asking people who they think should get a record deal next. And guess what?
Matt is leading the pack with a whooping 35%
Danny is only at 11%

So I do think this is a great sign, obviously the tour has given Matt much needed buzz and this might work in him getting good offers. I do think that by September we will finally hear some good news about a recording contract. I sure hope so!

Keep praying for Matty you guys! He deserves to succeed so much!

Oh thanks for posting this!! I also felt that this tour was important for those unsigned, which is why I am so happy about Matt's set be Raved. Everyone (even some who are not completely convinced on Matt yet) seems to think that he should be signed. We just need to continue supporting him, and keep the fanbase alive I guess. It is coming soon.

But, I don't agree that if they are not signed immediately after tour that it will never happen. Didn't jason get signed almost a year after his season???

Thanks for the link, mattyg93! I added my vote, and so far Matt has almost twice as many votes as the person in second place, Anoop. Even though this poll on BuddyTV is not "scientific", I still think it's a pretty good gauge of general American Idol fans who read internet blogs. In other words, I don't think Matt is in the lead because 5 of his fans are voting 100x each! LOL (Right now, there have been over 500 votes.) I knew Matt would be able to convince people of his talent once the reviews from the tour came out!

I voted..he was at 38% when I voted!! Wooohoooo!! he's leading the Pack!! but acourse!!

I voted.....he's at 45% now!

I voted on the poll, and I'm keeping Matt in my prayers, too ~ I just know that he has an amazing career ahead of him, including a major record deal ~ there's just no doubt about it in my mind.

I was just going to add in here that I was looking at some of the comments on this particular poll and alot of the good comments are coming from guys which I think is great AND really important because Matt is more then just another "pretty face" guy singer to where he would only have female followers...I think guys can really appreciate his MAD piano skills and alot of them have commented on this!! I'm soooo happy that things are coming together for our Matty G!!!

Wow. Those are some pretty telling figures, even for a tiny web poll. Matt has the CLEAR majority there, and even the comments are mostly about him. They are all saying the same thing: Matt DEFINITELY needs to be signed. Before, people would say things like, "Well, I could possibly maybe see him getting signed" or "Well, he's a good piano player, but so-and-so is my favorite, so I'd rather see them signed". Now that Kradison is signed and the tour is in full swing, it's just glaringly obvious to everyone. There are no more doubts, it seems. The best part of all this is that Matt is gaining new fans amongst non-Idol watchers, too. That, IMO, is more important than having a rabid Idol fanbase, because the general public are the ones you gotta appeal to in order to have longevity. Idol watchers are by nature, restless and fad-driven. If Matt is capturing those who are true music lovers, he may have a more loyal, long-lasting fanbase. Matt transcends fads anyway; he's classic and timeless.
