New Matt interview

Great Interview! I am thinking that maybe that is our book that SGR made that Danny speaks about? Did we ever hear from Matt about it--- ?? I think Matt has a fan in this interviewer!

Wow great interview! Well not really interview but great article. I loved the part about how he is a piano playing prodigy. I of course am aware of how talented Matt is but this article truly impressed me even more. Go leave a comment. It's easy you don't even have to register.

Did we give it to him before the DC show? I know the BG's gave him a book and IDF fans were working on a book. SGR's book is definitely professional looking!

Yes, we gave it to him at Charlotte - before the DC show. Well, at least we know that Danny likes it.

Danny could be referring to the book that sgr made. I'm not 100% certain, but I think the fans from the Idol Forum have NOT given their scrapbook to Matt yet. It's possible that it could have been the book from the BGs, but i have no idea what their cover looked like (was it leatherbound?)!

And gee, Danny sounded a little passive-aggressive there didn't he? He tried to sound like he was joking, but he just had to mention that HIS scrapbooks looked cheap! Heh

Anyway, I agreed with everything that reporter wrote-- seriously, it was like she had been reading our posts at this site! LOL I really am pleasantly surprised that Matt is able to win over all these bloggers/ reviewers who didn't like him during his stint on the show! The Giraud Squad knew he had the talent all along, it just took everyone else a little longer to catch up! HAHA And of course, he charmed the interviewer with his humor and charisma!

It comes to no surprise to me that a few hours after The Examiner article mentions the website Vote for the Worst, they post it on their home page and take another jab at Danny and Matt! Oh, yeah... so original, guys. These are the same insults they have been using since FEBRUARY!

The VFTW headline reads: 'Matt Giraud and Danny Gokey Aren't Fans of VFTW'. Well, DUH! Why would they enjoy reading a website where they get bashed for everything they do or say? It's not like reading comments from "official" reviews by TV or music critics. I have read their site, and it's a bunch of haters being petty. Let me preface this by saying that of course, I believe in freedom of speech. But why are those people wasting their time watching American Idol when they seem to have contempt for 99% of the contestants? Are they watching AI as a form of "punishment" (in their opinion)? I think the only one they didn't hate on from this season was Allison. They have made fun of Adam, Kris, Matt, Danny, Megan, Scott, Lil, etc.

It's all a part of being on a popular TV show -- sometimes the Idols will get positive publicity, sometimes it will be negative. By now, I think all the Idols have learned to disregard the hateful messages on certain websites. The Idols can laugh all the way to the bank as they cash their six-figure paychecks for about 2 1/2 months of work! HAHA [End of rant!]

Since VFTW seems to love watching Danny Noriega's antics (he was a season 7 semi-finalist), I will use his infamous words here: ' SOME people weren't liking it! ' LOL

Fantastic article. Love how she ended it with the sentiment that we all undoubtedly agree on...that "he is a wonderful musician who we need to hear more from." A M E N!

If he tried to learn a song by following melody by melody, note by note, he wouldn't be able to play and sing like he does without even knowing how to read music. Remember when Paula said Matt's riffs are respctful of the melody, that's because he has the whole harmony and chord already playing in his head. His riffing is never random but always fits the right chord, what a talent.

Well said, Lumma! I am still in awe of Matt being self-taught on the piano in just 5 years--- and this just adds it! Such unbelievable talent and he really is just getting started! One can totally understand when Adam says he is intimidated by Matt's talent (or he said someting close to that-).
