Well, has there ever been an "announcement" of signing a record deal via live ABC entertainment interview? Just wondering...I mean, I hope of course that he's been signed and that will be announced...but I don't know the "official" way they go about doing that. So I'm not expecting that announcement tomorrow. I don't want to get my hopes up, anyway. :/
Ughhh...this waiting period is like exciting and stressful at the same time! haha. I feel like its cool that WHEN Matt gets signed, at least he'll have some distance from the Idol competition and everyone can celebrate with HIM and make a big deal over it! But, the waiting part....is just, intense. haha.

Oh yeah Cacity, I get what you mean. I really don't think there will be any kind of official signing announcement tomorrow but what I am hoping is for some kind of hint from Matt regarding getting signed and label news. I just can't believe all this stuff has been arranged by himself. Someone must be sponsoring these interviews I think. Let's pray the interview is not only about the Yobi TV thing.
I believe something is already going on and the imp people who went to see him live are now finalizing things with the deal. I mean writing sessions? That is usually arranged by a label right?So I having very positives vibes right now.
Darn it, I had a great response and the computer timed me out!! I'm with Mattyg, I think this had to be arranged by his PEOPLE, because not anyone can just get on ABC, even if it's just a limited affiliate network!
Where is OvenMitt? I need some sleuthing assistance! Sean Kingston was interviewed...what record label is he on? Could there be a connection?

Anyone watch the Sean Kingston interview? First of all, he seems extremely mature for his age and seems to have his head screwed on right. He also said that he feels he got signed (to Warner BTW) off of myspace. He said he had 4 singles that he put up. After that he started emailing the heck out of some producers and got picked up (he said he would email some up to 7 times a day). This is similar to how Colbie Caillat got singed as well.
Bottom line, I think this is one way we can help Matt - play his music on myspace (which will be even better once he has some of his originals up) and email those with power.
Saw Matt's interview. He didn't say anything about record labels, but he did say he was heading to his writing session to make some blusey music w/ a some big names (he didn't say who though).
I also have the feeling that Yobi.tv put this interview together. He was promoting it.
sgr, I'm with you on playing his music on myspace. I just hope Mypace is still as useful for Matt as it was back when Colbie & Sean Kingston were up and coming. Myspace has kinda taken a back seat to Facebook & Twitter, as far as social networking goes. Not sure it goes the same way for music. I hope it's still just as popular for that route. Youtube is pretty strong though. He might have to set up something official on there.
I really don't know if the interview already aired because I live overseas, but I am just getting really excited rading all of Matt's tweets and hints. Check it out:

Did anyone notice the change of wordage for his upcoming album. "Soulful rock" to "bluesy" hmm...maybe the "important people" have given him a more clarified direction? I dunno...
I wouldn't mind bluesy AT ALL! Georgia is probably my favorite song he does...
cacity, I am trying not to get excited. BUT I definitely noticed that he said "bluesy". Why the change all of a sudden. And working with "top writers". And he seemed SO happy. Ugh, I want it to happen so much!
But even if he is not signed, I am thrilled with the bluesy focus. Blues is my favorite music, it's so emotional and moving. I am a happy girl!
Isn't soulful rock the definiton of bluesy though, when you think about it? Like rock and roll was derived from blues....so I think what we're hearing from Matt (whatever it is, I can't access the vid at work!), isn't really a change from what we've known.
Perhaps the new verbage is from coaching from some record execs?? We love bluesy Matt! I hope whatever it is he's working on is what HE really wants to do. I can't NOT believe that he's got people behind him!

I agree, Matt seemed VERY happy and upbeat. Not that I think Matt would be all "gloom and dry" if he had no prospects on the horizon...but I just think there was a certain spark, especially in his confidence of putting out music! He was SO positive that we'll definitely be hearing "some bluesy, good stuff" from him! Yayayayayayyaay. I just need more Matt music...ASAP.
Today is Music Monday on http://SignMattGiraud.com and all I wanted was a NEW Matt song to post! haha. Oh well...we can keep rewatching the old ones for the 2395952 time.

Why are you all in my head? LOL the sudden change from "soul/rock" to "Bluesy" stood out to me as well! It's almost like what happened to Michael and Danny (except Blues has always been Matt's thing so he isn't really saying anything out there by declaring the music he's doing as being Blues). But it did makes me excited

Sorry but I can't help but be excited (record deal or no) Matt seems to definitely be on the right track and I am proud of him.
OK... I just saw that interview and I am wondering here... ' I got excited when the reporter asked him soo can we expect an album from you any time soon?" And he said def, that he is in LA now and he is about to go to his first writing session ever with TOP songwriters and to expect a bluesy sound, etc.
This makes me wonder.. Can he arrange all of this by himself? Top songwriters? There must be a label involved at this point what do you guys think?

Good interview! Matt looks gorgeous. He doesn't say 'limbo stage' anymore from which I will take that something very concrete is on the line. Grrrr, want to know who he's working with.

My only worry is...please no Hannah Montana, Ashley Tisdale or Mandy Moore-esque music! haha

OK..first I want to say did Matt not look TOTALLY FREAKIN HOT or what in that interview?!! I just ADORE his smile and he is sooo damn sweet and cute in interviews! I'm happy he is looking SO presh and well rested!
I think that Yobi definitely set that interview up because they did talk about it quite a bit and showed footage of the show, etc. but mostly I think they did because at the end of the interview she plugged the yobi thing again...I think that any exposure Matt gets now though post idol is awesome so that doesn't bother me at all...I loved that Matt does seem very positive and happy in the interview and I love that he is actually in LA right now as I type this working on getting his music out there...doing these writing sessions with some "top writers"
Like all of you I wish we did know if there are any label's "actively" pursuing him like right now and if he's getting closer to being signed...I want to think there is but then I start getting a feeling and vibe that he's not quite there "yet"...because after he talked about the signmattgiraud on twitter he made that comment that he's glad that people want him to be signed and are pushing for it but he still didn't say he was even in talks with anyone so that made me just a little I guess I just keep thinking about how Danny was saying things about being in talks with a label (i think he even said the name) and then about a month later or so he announced he was signed so I'm just a lil frustrated that Matt doesn't appear to be quite to that place yet....BUT..BUT I'M NOT DISCOURAGED because I know how awesomely talented he is and he will get there eventually..I believe in Matt Giraud and his talent 150%!!...
Now...I DO think there has definitely been some interest from labels but I think they are holding back from a commitment because they want to hear some new demo CD's of Matt thus the big meetings with the top writers and such but acourse once they hear how damn awesome he sounds with his new music he will be signed like right away!! I just want him to not have to struggle to hard because he deserves this SO SO much! Oh and I would love me some Bluesy Matt Giraud but I don't really care what he does because I'm sure I will absolutely love ANYTHING he puts out (really I would)...I even love all his old stuff too!!

My thoughts too re. the teen-poppish sound, heheh! Matt won't let that happen though. I'm very curious about the "bluesy" sound! I hope he still keeps the piano-rock flavor!

WOW!..she seems to be a very talented singer/song writer and has quite the resume'!!! ...I'm SO sure now that Matt has got something in the works with a Label because I don't see how he could have arranged meetings with people in this type of position without something else going on...she has worked with alot of well known peoplel!! YES!!!! I'm so damn excited now!! OMG you guys!! Its happening for our Matty!!
