Getting ready for the big performance in Napa!! Met Billy Dean yesterday at lunch and he said he would be here tonight with some friends.

And since it's sunday and I have nothing better to do (it's not like I have homework or anything) I decided to look up Monty Powell and Billy Dean. And the gist of what I found is that basically, like Matt said, both of these guys are pretty big names in the country music scene. This news, and the fact that Matt was ~hanging~ with nashville songwriters (some of which he is staying in Cali to ~jam with) what if Matt goes....*gulp* country? LOL ok this sounds stupid but it was a legit fear when I read these tweets from Matt this morning. If it means record Deal for Matt I say DO IT! But if not, as much as I love that Matt is rubbing arms with some important people who want to work with him, I would say RUN AS FAR AND AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM COUNTRY MUSIC! We don't want him to catch the Danny/Michael bug

He seems excited everything went so well yesterday. I really don't know what to think about all those country songwriters but hey if they can help Matt get a record deal then I am all for it!

I remember Matt said in one interview that Randy Travis was very impressed with him when he sang "So Small" and told him he could have a career in country music. So who knows? I like Matt's country side to him also so I would not mind.

At the same time I love his rock/soul side so I guess it will all depend on what Matt wants to do. I don't think he will get into country though, lately he seemed pretty sure he was going to do a bluesy,soulful rock album and he already wrote songs in LA that don't indicate he is going the country route.

If only we could know what is going on behind the scenes! He must have many offers already! BTW aren't the Beckhams managed by Simon Fuller? Things that make you go hmmmm...

I'm SOOO excited too! Matt's tweets this past week have been so exciting, and he's been so happy, it's making it hard for me not to believe that something great (record deal) is on it's way! Regardless though, I'm glad he's having such a great time and meeting so many influential people and impressing them.

Matt is so talented, charismatic, and charming that I have no doubt he'll win just about any person he meets over.

Yeah, they are. I have been wondering if it's possible for 19 to manage Matt without him having a recording contract. Does anyone know the answer to this? Because if that's the case, it would definitely explain all the sweet hookups Matt has been getting lately. Things that make you go hmm indeed!

Well I doubt he is with 19Evil but I guess anything is possible. 19 managment does not have many clients they are also 19 Records so I would think that he would have a record deal if he was signed to 19 management but who knows. It all becomes very confusing. I also think there would have been an announcement if he was signed to their management.

I do think Matt has impressed a lot of people in the industry hence his ability to work with these people. Many unsigned idols who have left the show have worked with writers. Anthony Fedorov has and so has Constantine and I'm sure there are others as well. Any person with money can hire a writer no matter if they are signed or not.

Matt's newest tweet is an example of him impressing people in the industry...

Matt just needs to keep on doing what he is doing (impressing the hell out of people)and he will be signed! If he is not already!

That latest tweet has me all Matt is really making the rounds. I'm so happy for him and glad to see that he really wants this enough to work hard for it. I'm impressed with the way he's managed to meet and win over so many people, and feel like he's only getting started.

Even without a record deal, I honestly believe that Matt has a really good chance cause he wants it and won't stop working hard for it and he is just too talented and has too much support not to be recognized and picked up at some point (if he hasn't been already). Can't wait for announcement day!!

What do you guys think? Probably not as it seems it is for corporations but hey anything to generate conversation!

I say, "Go Matt!" Keep getting the hook-up! haha. I love that out of ALL the contestants, Matt seems to hit it off with the celebs the MOST. Anyone else notice that? Well, maybe Adam hits it off well with some too...but Matt seems to "make friends" with them. Kinda cool.

I just hope all these people he is meeting recently help him get signed with a label that will support him?
Maybe 19 is still interested maybe not? Who knows? All I know is that Matt def deserves to get signed by a major label and once he does I am sure he will be very successful.
I really can't wait for his solo recording career to start!
