#IMissYouTonight Trending Idea, I need your help!

Okay, I was running this idea past Jenna to see what she thought. She liked it so I'll share w/ everyone else.

Everyone seems to really want to get #IMissYouTonight trending sometime this week, but lately we've been having trouble spreading the word. So my thoughts were this: since Matt has over 50,000 followers on twitter, it might be effective to just go through his list & tweet as many of his followers as we can about what we want to trend & when we want to do it.

I was looking @ twitter trying to find the easiest way to do this. but the only thing i could think of is having a group of designated people (whoever wants to participate) tweet by page of followers.

What I mean by this is have one person tweet one page of followers @ a time & then post, (in a thread on here) the first name on the twitter page, and the last name on the twitter page, Then the next person can pick up where they left off.



We can do this in rotations , having one person go at a time, or, have each person who participates do it just once (depends on how many participants we'll have.)

I think it will work best if we get a group of volunteers first & they do their tweets in a sequential order. otherwise we could end up with overlapping tweets.

What do you guys think? Anyone willing to volunteer w/ me? The more volunteers we have, the less likely we'll have to do rotations. I don't have an expected number of people to tweet. I guess we can do this until everyone gets tired & doesn't want to do it anymore? Let me know what you think.

I think we're still trying to sort out which day we're trending this. This week is a little rough due to THanksgiving.

I think we should try it on Monday for Music Monday IMO. But once this gets figure out, please let me know and like I said before, I'll post elsewhere too so more people are aware! I know of a few people that are frequent post'ers on ONTD so if I get a few days notice, I can have them give that site a head's up......and they have A LOT of people on there!!!

Also, for the time being....could we maybe tweet the record labels again with Matt's twitter name & the link to the BEST & CLEAREST version of IMYT?? Maybe tweet this:

If that's over 140 characters, we could figure something else out!

We definitely need to keep tweeting the record labels!

But I suggest that we tweet the record labels each separately or else only tweet the main label and it's respective imprint(s) together (e.g. Universal_Music/Interscope and WarnerMusic/Atlantic and Jive/RCA etc.) together vs. tweeting them all in one tweet.

We don't want them to think that we're just arbitrarily tweeting every/all labels (might seem desperate), we want them to believe we're putting thought into it and approaching them specifically because they're a good fit for Matt.

Also, the labels really don't get that many tweets per day, so they definitely will see the things that we tweet them. To that end, I think we should be creative and each tweet different wording vs. all of us tweeting the same thing, though we could link to the same vid or vids.

Otherwise, it might look like spam and they'll end up ignoring it/not taking it seriously.

Have we decided on a date for trending yet? Is it gonna be tomorrow, if so, Mattyfan & Slick, we should get started.

Yes we are trending tomorrow night at 8:30 PM EST!

I think the message is great! Just not sure how we can get people organized to do this so we are not tweeting the same people?

I also had a thought about trending the name of one of his singles. You guys don't think we should wait til Matt chooses a single to release before we start trending one?
